Comment:

Dr. Judd taught the plant section of Biology II and did a very good job at it. He loves his subject which makes learning from him easier, despite the boring material. He really cares about his students and structured his individual test to the benefit of the class. He was the best Biology teacher I ever had.

Comment:

Dr. Judd was a great teacher for BSC2011 Plant section. He loves what he does and does his best to help students understand the material. You will get an A on his exam if you read smokin notes, take notes in class, and do bioportal. I only read the text book to do bio portal so its not that important for this section.

I love this professor! He was by far one of my favorites, the material is pretty boring and the test was a little tricky but Dr. Judd made it an interesting class. He is so sweet and one of the few professors at UF who is genuinely concerned about his students.

Comment:

Walter is awesome. He goes the extra mile to help students and to engender an appreciation for plants. He gives plenty of extra credit, making it very easy to get an A even if you get C's on the tests. And, he made homemade salsa and guacamole for everyone when we learned about lauraceae and solanaceae. I don't know how he has so much energy.

Comment:

Dr. Judd is what should be expected yet not required for all biology teachers. He is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about plant taxonomy as well as knows alot about biology besides just plant taxonomy. Take him if the class he teaches is required for your major.

Dr. Judd is without question the best lecturer I've had at UF. He is cheerful and extremely knowledgeable. He could not possibly be more clear about what he wants you to know. I don't particular care for Biology, but he made it very enjoyable and I really feel like I learned a lot. Study his notes (don't worry about the book) and you'll do fine!

Terribly boring, 3 tests and 1 extra credit assignment. Hated this class and learned nothing. Don't take it if you dont have to. If you have to basically know everything his notes that you have to buy at target copy and are written by hand and sometimes hard to follow. Fair warning: DONT TAKE IT!

Dr. Judd is the most intelligent and enthusiastic professor I've had so far. Exams aren't difficult if you study material from class and lab demos (trees of life). Cramming for exams is not recommended, but failing one will not destroy your grade if you do all extra credit. I had more fun than anticipated. If possible, I'd take Dr. Judd again.

Tests are fair and reflect the taught material well. Labs are the best way to learn the material. Studying is not difficult after hands on experience with the plants every week. Very enthusiastic, one of my favorite professors.

Dr. Judd is very enthusiastic about the subject of systematics. He knows his stuff too. The tests reflect the material well, and lab is painless and a great way of learning the material for the tests. He emphasizes hands on learning with this class. P

Judd is such a quirky guy. Really loves what hes teaching to the students, the asides of his lectures are really interesting along with the stories he tells. I really suck at science and i got an A, and learned something too! Nice class,nice teacher.

Dr. Judd is a really nice man. He is extremely helpful, a little quirky, but very willing to help. If you buy his notes pack from Target Copy and know those inside and out you will do fine. Do the extra credit he offers, it's easy and could potentially make a big difference in your grade. Just remember: Know the notes, Don't bother with the book!

He is sooo nice! He's extremely helpful out of class and so excited about what he teaches. He knows what he is talking about, all you got to do is buy the lecture notes which are exactly as the slides he lectures from. you should go to class and do study for his test! study!!

Dr. Judd is awesome! You can buy his lecture/trasnparency notes at Target Copy and you are good to go. Yes, his lectures are boring but he is a very intelligent, enthusiastic, kind man. We've taking 2 out of the 3 tests and with an easy 12 point extra credit, I have an A.

SOOOOOOOOOO BORING!!! If you can actually sit through the whole class then you will do fine. You have to study for tests otherwise you will fail! Buy the lecture notes so you don't have to take notes in class!

One of the nicest, most knowledgeable, most interesting professors I've ever had. You do need to study to get a good grade, but he makes biology as painless as possible. I learned a lot, got an A in the class, and can only hope that othe professors at UF were half as great of educators as him. :-)
