Comment:

Class isn't that easy, but he's a really good teacher don't get me wrong. Most people complain about him givin out bad grades but he curves on a major scale, plus those guys never come to class in my class of about 97 only 24 are in class on average. I liked this class but it kept me from playing oblivion :(

I love this professor. He is sarcastic and full of knowledge. He will teach you so much and change the way you view the world. I wish I could take more classes with him before he retires.

Comment:

Nice man but I think its time for him to retire. He refused to speak up in a class of 120 students, lectures are incomprehensible, he goes on tangents that have nothing to do with material. Not to mention the weekly chapter quizzes of 10 questions on a complete chapter. The whole class is hit or miss. Would not recommend AT ALL!!

Very confusing lectures; He jumps around to different topics a lot. Adds in comments and/or stories that are confusing, and include lots of dry humor. A test given after every chapter with only 10 questions. Does curve based on class performance, which is good b/c most would fail if this was not done. Not good at giving direct answers to questions.

Salinger is very interesting even though he doesnt really cover the subject matter too intensely. Just read the book, like he says, and learn the vocabulary, like he says, and his lectures will be much more engaging and enjoyable. He is nice and tells wonderful storys along with the material

Salinger is a great prof, he is very intelligent. He has a dry sense of humor that not a lot of people get, but I thought that he was funny. Come to lectures and do the readings and you'll be ok. His curve is awesome, but if you actually listen to him, you'll learn a lot.

Despite the huuge curve he gives to make up for the abismal grades that students make in his class, a majority of us were still making C's or lower. Tests mostly on textbook reading. And tests on boxes in margins/unimportant details, not main ideas. Not helpful. Boring to listen to. DO NOT TAKE!

Ok so personally I like his class and I like him as a teacher... Yes the class is hard, BUT a 65 is a B in there so people need to shut up and quit complaining. He's a great teacher who wants his students do well. He doesnt care about grades just that he tells you interesting topics having to deal with bio psych. I recomend his class.

Hard class, interesting subjects are made into boring lectures. Walter is not a very good professor. There are a lot of multiple choice tests, one after every chapter, no final, and a huge curve because everyone is usually confused about everything.
