Comment:
I was very disappointed with professor Lou, Prof. Jarvis is much better, contrary to what other posters say. Normally the ECE teachers are the best at WPI but she is one of the worst. Poor English, typos in slides, won't accommodate students who have 3 tests on one day.

Hands down the worst professor at WPI. I would not recommend taking any classes with her. I looked at the posts on RMP before taking her class...but sadly didnt listen to them. She is completely inconsiderate of the class time...every class ends by the next class practically pushing us out of our seats. Crams 3/4 of the work into the last week.

Cut off A at 90, either got full point or zero. Can't be good for students

Had her for 2801 two years ago. She's the reason my friend started attending the faculty interviews. Avoid her like the plague. She teaches by power point, badly, and her accent is very bad (although understandable). Feel asleep in her classes, so stopped going and read the book. Got an A, friends that attended lecture didn't. Disgrace to our dept.

She is a very good Professor for ECE2801,the exams and hw's are easy, the only parts that is hard is the Labs.If you don't understand any programming concept in class, you should go to her help section, she is very helpful.Definitely recommend her Over Prof.Jarvis.

Prof Lou is my academic advisor, and she isn't very good at that. She couldn't help me when I asked her a couple questions about my schedule. I think I'll be sure to stay away from he classes too.

again... not as bad as the previous reviewers make her out to be. at least she tries pretty hard to teach. class is easy, as are the exams. the labs are pretty much the only hard/frustrating parts.

she's not THAT bad..I've seen worse in the ECE department...the class is really easy so far and although her enunciations and presentation skills still need drastic improvement I would still recommend her over Jarvis ANY DAY!!!

She can't teach for beans. If you read the book, you don't need to go to class. In fact, class might confuse you more than it helps you. At least it's an easy class if you know the first thing about computers.

She should not be teaching. Her lectures are nothing but a waste of time. She is only good as a cure for insomnia.

Can't speak english to save her life! This fact alone is unfair and an insult to students paying big $$$ @ WPI for classes! Not enough text space to say what I want to say! She has no idea how to teach, pushes right into advanced prog techniques without 1

Very poor teaching methodology. Speaks terrible english and presents material in an unorganized and inefficient way. Pushes material too fast onto students. First lab requires detailed prog experience instead of opportunify to learn/practice basics of 808

Appears to know the material well but hasn't gotten the hang of teaching yet. Sometimes starts teaching one thing, realizes she needs to cover something else and goes to that, and then goes back and resumes where she left off.

The professor was hard to understand and she didnt explain any of the basics of the course before she threw up code onto the screen. All she did was read from the powerpoints during class.

Unintelligible and uninformative. If I didn't already know something about the topics, I wouldn't have learned anything because the presentation was horrible. Read from the slides word-for-word. My 3 hours per week could have been better spent drinking

Read from Powerpoint slides that repeated the material in the book, all in a thick accent. Homeworks asked mundane questions about security protocols, and tests depended on your ability to remember obscure details.
