He is a really friendly, outgoing sort of guy that is fun to chat with. He gives a lot of work and his tests take FOREVER to study for. But you learn a lot and he teaches well. You don't have to go to class, but his tests are largely based off notes from lecture. I really liked him, plus he makes himself accessible.

Judicial process. There are 3 tests (made up of identification and essay sections), a research paper, and a book report. Gives study guides that help a lot for tests, so there are no surprises. If you go to class and take notes, you won't need to do much reading from the book. Great teacher, take if you can.

Dr. Schreckhise is awesome! He says that attendance is mandatory, but does not take role or give pop quizzes. Show up, take decent notes, and you won't even need the books. If you don't take notes though, his lecture comes straight from the material! GREAT CLASS!

Dr. Schreckhise is a great teacher! Just make sure to write down the outlines, because they follow the format for his essay questions. You do need to go to class to take good notes, and you will write about 5 pages for each test. He is one of the most knowledgeable professors I've taken, but he can also come off pretty intimidating.

Dr. Schreckhise is AWESOME. Seriously, if you are into Political Science and can get into one of his classes, do it. His Judicial Process class is a good amount of work, but he will explain anything you have trouble with. He's a funny guy and his classes are very entertaining! Absolutely recommend.

Comment:

Nice guy, generally fair to both sides. The Judicial Process class is quite a lot of work; there are multiple readings every day. There's a big book review and a 10-15 page research paper. A lot of work, but you will learn quite a bit. He'll help you with any problems you have and give plenty of explanations and examples. Recommended.

Dr. Schreckhise is easily among the best professors I have taken at the U of A. He is extremely clear in his lectures, and his tests primarily come from his lecture notes, so make sure you actually go to class! While the readings are not necessarily "required," it is helpful in order to fully participate in class. Definitely take him!!

This was a great class. Don't be frightened by the simulation project. I am a shy student, and found that I ending up making lots of friends in the class. There are 3 tests, and 2 papers (which aren't as hard as they seem). Tests are easy, gives study guides. I highly reccommend.

Class is kind of boring at times but he's a GREAT teacher. I definitely recommend taking him for anything you can and if you get him as your adviser you're really lucky. Tests are kinda hard, take your study guide to him to look over. Court project at the end of the semester is harder than it seems. Great class!

Public Policy. Schreckhise is the best teacher I have taken at the U of A. The simulation paper was the hardest part about the class. It was 15 pages. If you take diligent notes, go to class, and cram for the tests you will do well.

Supreme Court and the Constitution. He gets frustrated when you don't keep up on the reading. Really, you don't need to except for fear of a pop quiz because his lectures are very good, clear, and to the point. The project at the end reaquires a lot of work, but if you study and are willing to do the work, you will do well in the class.

You'll look back on this class later and be glad you took it. It's so much work, but you learn so much from it. Don't be intimidated by the first test; he loves it when you can make specific references to lecture or reading in your essays. The moot court project is a huge workload, but you'll gain a tremendous amount of legal knowledge from it.

Had him for several classes and they were all great. He notices who shows up for class. A lot of teachers say they don't want to have their lectures regurgitated for exams, including him, but he totally does. You will ace his tests if you go over all of the major points from lecture.
