This is one of the better professor's I have had among Math and Compsci professors at AU. His CSC280 class was heavy on homework projects, which are a great way for students to understand some fundamental concepts in Computer Science. He is not the toughest, but not the easiest. He is very knowledgeable about CS Theory, but not CS workplace norms.

I took this class with professor Ford and I am glad I did. He is a really takes time explaining all the questions that students may have. Also he walks through the classroom helping each of us with the problems we may have with our code, and he is crystal clear about explaining assignments. Adjusts the homework to the class progress speed.

I have had many teachers and professors whom I have found lacking; however, Ford is the worst professor I have ever had. Yes he is easy and it is not difficult to get a good grade, but he is technologically challenged and is terrible at actually teaching. His lectures make people fall asleep and his teaching style is archaic. Do NOT take this class

He is a really sweet guy, the class itself is very dry so and boring and he did the best he could teaching it but it's really hard to pay attention! Very little homework, you can always get it done in class!

Ford is a really great professor. If you don't understand something, he'll sit down with you over and over again until you get it. He knows EVERYTHING about ArcGIS and is happy to share his knowledge. Book is used HEAVILY and is required, but it's a good, easy book that takes you through step-by-step. Fantastic professor and a really nice man!

Great professor. Though what was required for assignments and due dates were unclear a lot of times, he's very helpful if you just ask. Though the material is hard, he does a great job of explaining during lecture & makes it interesting. Has high expectations but grades very fairly. I learned a lot from him & highly recommend his classes.

One of the best in CAP - clear presentations, extremely fair grader, well formatted quizes and tests. Great current events discussions. It is a shame he is leaving AU. He will be missed!
