well-rounded educator -very open to sparking discussions at the discretion of the student. Something I enjoyed most was how his papers were very open and lenient to any topic of the course, gave you way to express whatever you feel. I wouldn't say he's easy to walk over, you still do need to put in a fair amount of work and ethic

Wonderful course taught by a caring & highly knowledgeable professor. Coursework is thought-provoking, important and deeply engaging. Loved the material covered & general outline of the course as we covered many different influential authors, poets & content each week. Professor Cleghorn is fantastic, dedicated and attentive to students needs.

Comment:
All he does is poems about Elizabeth Bishop. The whole class is boring and you really don't learn anything. He wasn't clear with his grading and you don't know what he expects. If you're taking this class prepared to be bored and learn nothing.

The course was on Writing Strategies but 90% of the course was on Poems by Elizabeth Bishop. When it came to the grading criteria, it wasn't really clear. He does give good feedback.

I took his class for EAC150 online. We had homework every Friday but was okay. Lot of reading. And be careful with the grammatical errors because he is strict. I was scared to get a C for his class but I got a B! However, I would prefer take his course in a classroom.

He seems like a really nice person, very polite. He's well-read and well-traveled. In his EAC 150 class , you will be assigned two readings per week. That is a lot but it's mostly short stories and poems. I got an A+ in his class. I did all the essays, participated in class discussions and those he puts up on Blackboard. I missed about 4 classes.12

For students who struggle with basic grammer and essays, he may be little tough but reasonable because he gives correct feedback and you must try not to make same mistakes again. For students who are ok with english, he is an awesome professor. I love class discussion and he made me better in english with his useful feedback. I highly recommend.

Easy if you like literature - very difficult if you are new to English. In Oxford Book of American Short Stories (course text), dialogue of southern characters are spelled the way they sound when accented, e.g. in Faulkner's Evening Sun, yawl you, chillen children, outen out of, telefoam telephone - this means your dictionary won't help.

As a teacher he is great. Helpful. But not really clear in organized. Really tough marker. Picks at small things if you write well. If you are good in writing than take him otherwise be ready to be marked hard. You will learn though at cost of some marks
