Comment:

He may be a good teacher in person but his online class is horrible. He created his own textbook which is full of typos/mistakes. There was at least one mistake every module leading the student to learn information incorrectly or spend hours struggling with the homework because he made a typo in the formula. Worst class ever -and i'm a math person.

He gives journals every week which requires you to narrate every little thing you did in class. He wants you to understand the book and incorporated in class and in the journals. He did not provide a rubric in the beginning of the class so I failed in the beginning journals. He still counted it towards my grade even though he did not explain.

He has a stupid late policy which doesnt help when NJCU shuttles schedule is terrible. Teaching he is okay he always wants a specific answer, what you say in class he entertains but at the end he wants you to answer specific to what he is thinking, like we can read minds. If you dont use intelectual words on journals you will get a bad grade.

He is a tough grader but he only wants the best for his students. He is very active when he teaches and uses the students for examples during the lesson. I would take him again but he only likes to teach in the morning.

This professor is fun in class and does great activities. However, testing is very detailed from the readings. You must study and read over and over to pass his tests! If you are not a reader, I would not recommend him.

I enjoyed having this prof!! It is true that he will make you work for your grade. He has high standards and it will help you in your college career and beyond because he teaches you to be accountable and work hard. Would def take him again!

His online class is very disorganized. He uploades a workbook he created which is 239 pages. This workbook is always missing information and needs to be corrected. This leads to you not understanding what is due since the assignment are incorrect. He is not helpful, I scheduled an appointment to see him but he was very rude in answering questions.

Comment:

Dr. LaMar is brilliant. He gives good feedback and is available when needed, but he runs a tight ship. He breaks up the semester into modules and provides a concise calendar with due dates for every assignment and exam. The workload is reasonable. He has high expectations and has helped me improve my time management skills. Excellent professor.

I took this course online for my major. He is not good at letting you know what he needs from you. Also, the online section is set up horrible and hard to follow. He does have extra credit which I used! If you take him online make sure you are computer savvy. He also only used PDF so if you can't convert or type on PDF don't take him.

This professor will bring out your true work ethic. Lots of reading and homework but he's always available to answer any questions. Exams are difficult too, you need to really understand the work to do well on them. Do the extra credit when he gives it because it helps balance out your grade. Hard class to take online you need to teach yourself.

Gives essay tests. Must take notes--along with the book--in order to study for the test. Group project. Class participation is a must. Final paper must demonstrate you understand the subject. Gives extra credits throughout the semester. Very, very, very strict with tardiness. Makes you work for your grade. Does not hold you for the entire class.

LaMar's class helped me discover my true work ethic. He knows that his students are capable of doing more than they limit themselves to. If you are weak minded and like to take the easy way out of things do not take this class. However, if you want to actually learn and push yourself to the limit this class is perfect. I learned so much from Lamar

Just finished this online class. He's definitely hard BUT if you give yourself time to do the work you will be fine. Yes, the midterm and final were pretty lengthy and VERY tough but it wasn't that bad. That being said, stats online is a bad idea no mater who is teaching it but I learned a lot from this man.

I dont know how he is in class, but dont EVER take this class online with him. It is very hard, the final was a joke and it had 2 parts. Part A you have to do a Statistical Narrative that is so difficult and big and he expects us to know everything. I knew it wasnt gonna be an easy class to take online, but I didnt think it was gonna be so hard.

Not an easy professor. You must read, lectures may be confusing if you do not grasp the basics. Hard test giver (essay format the hardest). Book is essential. Extremely strict with tardiness. Participation in every class is a must. He would give you extra credit but, do not expect to be an easy one. Some individual and group projects. U will learn.
