Comment:
A fairly quiet guy. Seems nice, somewhat over-critical. Has scolded class for showing up late when he himself is often late, rarely informs the class where we are meant to meet when plans are changed. Lectures for a long time w no clear path. Vague and unclear directions. Suddenly added a project at the end of the quarter.

Bob's a bit standoffish but a good guy. I suggest you do not even thing of taking the Green Materials Designing program with him. He and his partner were consistently unprepared for class, would openly admit this in class. Projects were poorly planned. I sadly left the program confused as to why he was teaching it. Others shared this attitude.

Great at teaching drawing. Expect snarky comments. Can provide excellent input if you can get his attention. Quiet lectures with very interesting content- if you can follow. Has much to teach, but you have to go after him to get the good stuff- don't give up on trying to get his attention.

Took Designing Green Futures from Bob. Very soft spoken, allows his students to form what they want from his classes and seminars. You need to go to him for help, but this means he doesn't butt into your work and always had a compliment to follow his critique. Helped me develop my drawing technique from nil to good.

Bob leverich was one of the most thoughtful and connect faculty I encountered at Evergreen. i learned so much and read so much. I really liked his studios and moved into a new phase in art--on that was informed and inspired--because of him!

Bob was a great teacher. Although sometime very soft spoken he is a wonderful artist and if you really choose to listen to what he has to say its very interest. Good luck in the future

Bob is one of my favorite teachers at Evergreen. He is very intelligent and well rounded. He works most with students that show interest and ask for help, which I find respectful. He's an amazing artist and really wants to see his students be successful. He's corky and I like that in people.

A great guy, but not too great a teacher. You have to establish a good personal relationship with him and communicate with him frequently in order to get the most out of his classes.

Comment:
Bob is more helpful then people give him credit for, you have to establish interest in his classes. If you make the effort to go talk to him he is a decent guy, the problem is that people don't want to for various reasons. Bear in mind that sculpture is tedious work, so consider the subject matter.

He was never prepared for class and often came late. He is best known for horribly borings demonstrations that lasted past an hour. Or the sanding demo where the class had to stand and watch him sand the same block of wood for 45min.

Comment:
Bob is the exact teacher that nobody wants. He is really boring and unclear. He makes it seem like projects are open ended and that you can go many places with them but really he wants it specific and uncreative. He also has a habit of degrading students in front of the class, but it doesn't matter when no one's on his side.

Comment:
His own personal sculpture work- well crafted but boring conceptually. I have seen many slides of his Jesus Christ commissions for churches, boring but well made. DTF faculty hired him because he is their age and would never be threat to the art teaching hiearchy. Most students will never know how thick the politics are a Evergreen.
