if you make eye contact or small talk with him before class he will cold call on you. Only cold calls at the beginning of class. Only cold called for 2 case briefs in a year of classes His tests focus on minute points that you don't pay attention to. Is a good professor and knows the material 5. His jokes are actually pretty funny.

Had the pleasure of taking Professor Smith at WVU Law for several classes. Gave me a new perspective on campaign finance. Encourages lively debate in class. Learned a lot.

He should cold-call on students more. He's letting the slackers take advantage of him.

Very entertaining. Provides additional facts for cases during what we dubbed "story time" that really help you to remember the importance of the case. Sense of humor is cynical and sarcastic - loved it.

Every week I look forward to this class. He works you hard, but he makes it fun. He also makes you think for yourself, which is refreshing. And if you really want a treat, ask him for his opinion of the movie "12 Angry Men." Or even better, ask him to sing some rules for you. He'll do it, and he may even bring a musical instrument.

Excellent. Asks the right questions to guide you in the right thinking. No spoon-feeding (which is good for those who work hard). Hilarious and irreverent and realistic.

Nothing fancy, no powerpoint or technology, but lively and lots of humor in class. Tries to keep it real, focusing on things that lawyers actually do, not bizarre hypotheticals.

Arrogant as they come. Don't ask for help because it will not be forthcoming. Only interested in reliving his past accomplishments. The fact is, he teaches at a 3d tier law school. This is not Yale or Harvard, so get off the high horse and start relating to students.

Nobody knows election law better than this former chairman of Federal Election Commission. The Cynical "Prince of Darkness" will disabuse you of your idealic notions of how democracy works, but it's all done with great sense of humor and enthusiasm. It's a fast, wild ride - hold on to your seat.

Cynical, sardonic, fun once you figure out he's laughing with you, not at you, and the bragadocio is all done with a wink. Good sense of humor, tough but ultimately very forgiving.
