Comment:

Prof. Ivers is a nice woman who wants you to succeed, but DO NOT TAKE ANY GEOLOGY CLASSES. I took this class and its lecture to fulfill requirements, and this 100 level lab is the hardest class I have taken. The labs are 20+ pages, you will take the full lab time every single week, and the midterm and finals are impossible. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

Comment:

The Geology lab I took with her was one of the most difficult and most stressful classes I have ever taken. There is way too much work for a 1 credit lab. Prof. Ivers is nice and helpful, but the labs are horrible. I know she didn't create the labs but some major changes need to be made. Luckily, I was able to get through it with an A-.

Comment:

She is incredibly helpful. I took her for AST209 lab. All of the labs were tedious but she does help you. She will not give you the answers but wants you to try to understand the concept. Tough grader and wants everything done her way as she specifies in the instructions. But the last two are easy. Would highly recommend.

Comment:

The most disrespectful professor I've had at CCSU. She moves so fast during labs and will not stop or slow down even if the entire class is lost. She always has snide remarks if you do not understand something, and her labs are very difficult on top of it all. I felt so anxious before every lab and discouraged afterwards because she's so harsh

I never thought I would find space and the origins of the universe boring; until I had professor Ivers. There is so much material fit into a tiny amount of time that she just rushes through the slides. These slides are not helpful BTW, TAKE LOTS OF NOTES. The book is useless, and you will never open it. Skip this professor if you can.

Terrible teacher and person. Will talk down to you if you ask a question. You have to work in groups but will take points off for similar answers on lab reports. A typical lab would go something like this: have no prior knowledge on what we would be doing that day, she would pass out the lab, ignore everyone, everyone struggles and barely passes.

DO NOT take a lab with this professor. She was rude to me and made it clear when she didn't want to help someone. It was a very boring and terrible class. I would not suggest this professor or this course.

Shes so into her job its rediculous. She is so enthusiastic, and shes very helpful if you have questions. Not a bad lab class if you have to take it!

Do yourself a favor and never take this class. All you do is copy notes from the powerpoints (that aren't on blackboard) and she goes through them way too quickly, with students always asking "can you go back?" Annoying. Lectures for an hour BEFORE your test on material that will be on your NEXT test…sorry, but where is the logic in that?

Do NOT take this class with Ivers for lab. She is ALWAYS ridiculously late, and NEVER helps. She provides absolutely NO instruction. We may as well be doing the labs on our own because she literally doesn't tell us anything. Does not know how to interact with other human beings. Incapable of answering questions. Stay FAR away from her!

This class was pretty easy. She had a tendency to dumb things down to a level so low that it was pointless to even mention the topic. She also had a habit of talking too fast and move through PowerPoint slides too quickly to take notes. She also refused to make these slides available online. Not recommended to anyone actually interested in science.

Professor Ivers was such a nice professor. She is very helpful. She will go over the material before tests and will help you with the math problems. Her tests are very difficult, though. If you don't like going to class that often , then don't take her course. In order to pass the course you have to go to class to get the notes (test material).
