Prof Chanda knows his stuff when it comes to economics. Class is very lecture heavy (no PowerPoints, just oral lectures- like a history class) & we only had 3 exams to determine our final grade. If you're a good note-taker & study hard you'll be okay. I really liked this course and enjoyed learning about macroeconomics.

Chanda definitely seems like a nice and interesting person but this man needs to retire already. He looks anywhere between 70-80 and his voice is so melotone and quiet that people fall asleep every class. Exams are challenging and much tougher than what the textbook has. His review days also doesn't help. Cool guy though but don't take him

Comment:

Overall Prof. Chandan is a great person, he is funny and can be helpful if you ask for help. Only three test for the semster and Prof. Chandan assigns homework for your personal help. (He goes over it in class) The class was still tough however he does curve the test if you are doing bad. I recommend him to those who have to take ECO 1021.

Professor Chanda is a great lecturer.. he knows his subject and is clear and concise. HIs test are tough, so unless you show up to class, read all the material and take good notes don't expect to pass. Overall a great professor.

He is awesome! He gives 12 problem sets for the semester, 2 problems in each set, 10 pts each. No midterm/final! Drops the lowest problem set score. The problem sets aren't easy, but if you follow his notes you will be fine. He is very clear and concise with teaching. TAKE HIM!

The positive reviews for this guy are incorrect. Does not give reviews for exams . Students do poorly, and he tells everyone after they bomb the exams, "I will be curving the grades", when the bad grades are his fault. Material on exams is different than in book and what is taught. Take a better professor,so not to get a "D" and pray for a curve.

make sure you attend all his lectures. His exams are kind hard but his very nice and fair teacher. The exams are really from notes. he doesn't review so its hard to study. But over all good teacher. I didnt do well in any of his exams, and pass with C.
