Comment:
I took Professor Lawler for online PHYS 1052. With the few email interactions I had with her, I felt like she was treating me like I was an elementary school student, or that I was stupid. The online lecture modules were excessively long, and there was an absurd amount of homework. Tests online w/ answers. Shes a good choice, just not the brightest

I think this was her last year teaching, so I don't even know why I'm making this rating. However, Professor Lawler's Physics of Sound class was quite boring. It may be that I especially didn't like it because I am a speech pathology major not a music major.

BEWARE: It is a common misconception that this class is an easy elective... IT IS NOT. I took this with the hopes that I could easily pass as physics is not my major and I was in my last semester of school. This class genuinely gave me migraines...I have no idea why a class about the Solar System is SO math-heavy with 3 assignments due per week...

You would think this class is easier than a regular physics class, but you really have to work for it. Professor Lawler goes extremely fast through the material, teaches this course as if you are highly knowledgeable of physics, but she is available for help but does not explain well. I'm sorry but I highly suggest not taking this professor.

You couldn't pay me enough to take this class again. 1)If you want to take this class, be sure you have a good GPA to start with. 2)BEWARE THE DUE DATES! 3)I really hope you know how to Google stuff. 4)I taught my peers more than she did in the entire semester and got our grades a letter grade up. 5) DO NOT expect an explanation you can understand.

She is all over the place. I understand that this was the first time to have the class online, but she definitely expects you to follow along as she sends a million emails about her mistakes/date changes on assignments. If you miss ONE she will not budge and tell you it is your fault even though the syllabus says otherwise. Tough for a core class

DONT buy the textbook, you never use it. She tells you to buy it and ends up giving you copies of the pages you need for homework.

This is a very difficult class, and while she tries to explain well, much of it will go over your head unless you are mathematically inclined. She will try to help you out if your grade is struggling, and with a lot of work, I got a B in her class. If you have to take Physics, perhaps take her. But good luck.

This class is a joke. If you are a music major, you are forced to take this stupid class. Mrs. Lawler treats everyone like a physics major and expects everyone to know the information just like her. She makes it difficult to get the core requirement out of the way. For every exam, she says that the review material will be on it but it's not!

Very helpful and workable. Textbook only useful for supplemental self learning. Good at explaining concepts. Easy A if you do all the homework and test reviews.

She's a nice lady, but isn't very good at teaching. She reads off the powerpoints, sometimes way too fast, other times she goes into things that aren't even relevant to the slide. Don't really need to go to class, her notes are online anyway.

She's a very nice lady but I found it hard to like her as a professor. Your best chance to pass the tests is to read the textbook because she doesn't really lecture, just reads off the PowerPoint. She goes too fast on reading the PowerPoint notes. Also, study your lab notes for the tests. And she also offers extra credit assignments.

It is apparent by her teaching that she is still kind of new but even as a person who sucks as physics, I was able to pass her class with a B. The lectures are more fun on some days than they are on others. I bought the text book and never opened it once. This class is easy to pass if you actually try.

Professor Lawler is not someone I'd take again. The tests are fairly easy, but I've taught myself most of the material. She really doesn't do more than just read off of her Powerpoints.

Attendance is not mandatory and is EXTRA CREDIT! You only need to show up for the tests, which are exactly like the practice tests she sends you. Just do the homework and show up for the tests and you should be fine. She reads from the powerpoints which are online. Skim them, use her study guide/practice test, and easy A!

Honestly she's a good lecturer and I can't say much bad about her. Show up and it's an Easy A if you even remotely try. Don't show up or put any studying/effort in and you're gonna have a bad time. Labs can be a bit tedious but other than that all the previous lectures/study guides are on Blackboard. I'd recommend the class if you need the credit.

Even though she is a very nice lady, she is not a good professor. Does not do a good job of explaining things, unprepared for class, boring lectures and you have no idea what your grade is until the final week of class. Do not recommend this teacher for physics.
