cons: 1. likes 2 berate engineers in the industry (chrysler esp) 2. hav enuf stamina 2 write down his notes 3. 90% exam and 10% HW 4. lots of manual calculation pro 1. he is lenient in marking 2. exams r usually similar to HW i got 4.0, never really studied, just work on HWs. He is not that bad imo but his first impression may put some off

Comment:

Professor Ko is hard but as a graduate level professor he is what he should be. He hand writes the lecture notes in class so he only gives you what you need, DO NOT MISS CLASS. From the notes and examples you will be able to determine the procedure to answer any problem. Tests are not hard but they are long, however don't worry grades are curved.

Comment:

The one good I can say is that he is always available to help, even outside of posted office hours. But he only will meet you in a public place, like the library, never in his office. He is paranoid, and I feel bad for him actually. His lectures are not the best, you almost have to teach yourself the material after class.

If you register for his class save yourself the trouble & drop it. Probably the smartest man I've ever met but he spent more time proving his intelligence than teaching. Incredibly disorganized, unprofessional, & difficult Only reason his class is passable is he gives you all the definitions to memorize for the exams which is around half the points

Worst ever professor I have met, Difficult to understand his pronunciation. Does not complete examples in class. Solves simple exams in class but gives very difficult ones for exam that too only 2 questions which will take more than 3 hours to solve. You will do better in Rocket science class by any other professor than taking FEM from this guy.

Got a 4.0 in ME361. Took this class and had a tough time. What a sorry excuse for a teacher. He changes his mind after he grades an exam question, you get 17/20 then 14/20 than 5/20. each previous grade being scribbled out. You will never get above a 60 on a lab report. He completely ignored teaching dynamics. Why bother with teachers like this OU?

I had Dr. Ko for Dynamics. Our class average for every test was below 50%. When it was suggested that our class average was so low because he was a poor teacher, Dr. Ko responded by telling us that American students are lazy. He is absolutely the WORST of the WORST. OU should be embarrassed to have him on staff. Do not take him.

Very bad educator. If you don't already understand statics/dynamics try to take it with someone else. You can get a decent grade if you work hard but you are on your own - self taught. Labs are long and he grades bad. One group gets 90 and another gets 50 for the same paper. Really,he is the worst teacher I have ever had, this school or any other.

It is a hard class, I got a good grade but most failed. Problem was that tests are long and you use the whole time. You have to develop techniques to speed things up. He gave hints in class on what the exam would be. He will say, what about this, and sure enough it was on exam. I like the class, but then again most struggled with it.

horrible!! assigns homework from his head, not from the book?. tests are literally ridiculous. 2 tests + final. most of the class dropped already. i'm hoping to get a 2.0. his curve doesn't help at all. i would look for someone else if i were to do it again

HORRIBLE TEACHER! Does not explain anything, just puts up equations and expects you to know what they mean and when to use them. Very hard tests. First test, the average was in the 40's. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

wow, this guy has lost touch with reality. average on 1st test was roughly a 40. told us that a unanimous class vote would change our grades and someone voted it down. this class is terrible. he does not use the book and even assigns homework from other text books? that's always nice. stay away if you can

I took this guy twice and hated his teaching style, lack of help. All he would do was right equations on the board, circle them and say "memorize". Can't hear him from more than 3 rows away and then you have to try to translate his horrible english. He should stick to research and quit teaching. No students like his classes.

One of the worst professors at OU. I dont uundestand why OU let's him continue to teach. Look at the ratings?? Does not like to help when in need, follows his own notes...and doesnt explain anything well...just writes equations without explanation...do not take him..hes the WORST..
