Comment:
Mr. Bricker is one of the best teachers I have ever taken. In Exo/Deut we were only given a few assignments for discussions, and reading for only five quizzes. He's not strict on attendance, but I would recommend not missing his lectures since he gave us a copy of the notes, which are used for the exams. He doesn't grade heavy, but has expectations

Every class pretty much consists of taking notes in the course pack. If you follow the directions for the assignments you should receive an A. He gives study guides for the exams (there's 3) which is really helpful. Overall he's a caring/sometimes funny prof.

Comment:
Most lectures consist of copying from his power points, attendance not mandatory, but just have someone to take notes for you. The tests are very easy if you study, although it is a lot of information to memorize. He gives the test questions a week in advance to study and answer, and if you have all the notes you're good. Very caring person.

Dr. Bricker is amazing ! He takes an interesting approach to the Patriarchal narratives by looking at what the first five books of the Bible would be understood in ancient times rather than just us today. He breaks up the exegetical paper into three parts which is very helpful. His tests are tough because its all writing, no multiple choice.

Dr. Bricker was a great professor. Only books we actually read were Manners and Customs of the Bible and the Bible itself. Would def recommend. Oh and the course pack is a must.

Great professor, willing to get to know his students outside of class. Keeps lecture interesting by telling life stories and allowing time for class discussion. Course pack makes note taking clear and simple. Bluebook tests are exactly like the study guides, but complete and perfect answers are expected for full credit.

Dr. Bricker made transitioning from high school level classes to college level courses easy. As my first class in the day, I'm excited to hear what he has to teach. He does a great job of integrating Old Testament theology with present-day application. This guy is super chill and he basically starts you off with a 100 and chips off points. Cool guy

This professor is highly knowledgeable in what he teaches and even provides you with his dissertation on human suffering! He is very interesting and will offer up great and mind-blowing conversation if you ask him a question or two. I took the online class, but now I must take a class of his in person to get to know him better. He is relaxed, too.

This professor is a very kind and cares about his students, but his lectures are incredibly boring and dull. It was rough getting through his classes but if you show up, take notes, and read you'll have no trouble getting an A.

Great Professor! He really does care for his students to learn. This class will be easy as long as you do your work. The study guide that is provided is exactly like his test, so if memorized you will get an A in class. Does a great job explaining the law and much more!

His class is tough, but I believe it was worth it. He emphasizes the relationship between the Israelites and YAHWEH vs other cultures a lot. Good professor because he really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Make sure you study for his tests. Do the study guide and memorize it and you will be on the path to an A.

There are many essays to write in this class. He barely gives you any feedback when you send him your essays. He's an okay professor.

Awesome professor! Loves what he teaches and really shows an appreciation for his students. The class itself can be a bit challenging because he's kind of a tough grader. He expects a lot from his students, but is clear on what he does expect. The workload does get a lot out you, but is very manageable. Highly recommend this professor.

He truly cares about his students and is so passionate about what he teaches. The class itself requires a lot of work in order to do well because he is a very hard grader. However, he is pretty clear about what he expects from his students so it's your fault if you slack off. Loved the class and loved the professor. I would take him again!

I took his online class which was great. Very reasonable professor with the amount of work he assigns. You can tell he is passionate about what he teaches even from an online class. The tests and quizzes are very straightforward. Three major assignments: 2-3 page reflection, outline of exodus, short exegetical paper.

THIS IS THE HARDEST 100 LEVEL CLASS YOU CAN TAKE. don't take if you don't want a lot of stupid/busy/waste of time work. he is a very nice man but a crazy hard grader. if you don't have the answer word for word of the exams it is wrong. This class is not one you should take unless you LOVE doing long hours on papers+work. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS

Took the online class. Quizzes and tests are not too bad. But, the exegetical paper and the structure analysis are REALLY difficult, even if you start early. If you already have a large course load, do not take this class.
