Darrol is amazing. One of my favorite professors. He is funny but he understands a lot and often gives advice and ways to help us. He does homework, no tests or quizzes. Attendance is required, he will deduct points if you miss class. There are a few extra credit assignments too. Take his class, if you can :)

Hilarious man!! His accent makes the class 10x better and funnier. Had him for an 8am, and he takes attendance on the dot. Expects discussion during class. Sometimes hard to stay awake during his lectures.

The class is honestly like an orientation of the school and how to get involved. But Darrol made the class fun!! We had potlucks often and class ended early most days. There is a bit of homework but then again we only meet once a week so you have plenty of time.

Darrol is an awesome professor to have as a first year student and he does not give that much homework and his lectures are fun and light. Its an easy class but participation(meaning attendance) is mandatory.

He is seriously the best professor I have met in this school. He is so nice and considerate. His class was mandatory attendance but you would actually want to be in his class. He does group projects which help makes friends. He is very caring and always makes sure his students are good. I wish he taught more classes!

Darrol is a great professor for GS. He cares about his students and his class is really inspirational. There's barely any assignments that you have to complete for this class and when there are assignments, they are easy completions. Plus, the assignments he gives us are a lot of reflection assignments that benefit yourself and interests about you.

Comment:

One of the best classes I've taken. His passion for the subject matter is infectious and I always came out of class feeling inspired. This class makes you think outside the box and see things from a sociological perspective, you'll feel pretty woke after! I'd totally get a beer with this guy. Not an easy A but take it seriously and you'll be fine.

BEST PROFESSOR YOU'LL EVER HAVE! He's amazing, lots of extra credit opportunities, funny, caring, super helpful. He cares about his students and wants them to all suceed in their journey through college and gives a bunch of good advice and helpful tips about college dos & donts. Go to class and you'll pass. I would take him again in a heart beat.

GREAT Professor. Had him the whole year and he really someone you should take. The whole class enjoyed our time in that class. There are some group projects that are super simple. Only used textbook for code once. Its mostly lectures but they feel like conversations which keeps you interested.

Prof Hughes is awesome. He really cares about his students and will help you succeed. I was required to buy the textbook. His assignments are easy, just don't procrastinate. He is strict on attendance and tardiness, so show up, and be on time. He hates cell phones in class so keep yours turned off in your bag.

Darrol is one of the most nicest, hilarious, and amazing professors you will ever have here in East Bay! He is truly caring and inspirational. As long you attend to class and do the assignments on time its an easy A. We never used the textbook that all GS classes had to use. Don't buy it.

Darrol is a good professor. He does not let his students do much during class but just become involved in class discussions. He is very understanding and funny. You would enjoy this professor because he is one a kind you might not ever find in another professor.
