Everyone complained that his class was impossible. If you actually put in the time to study the power points, you will do fine. Plus there is a giant curve at the end of class because everyone does poorly even though It was not needed; I got an A without the curve

Lectures are awful to sit through it is 3 hours of just him reading his powerpoints. The tests are mostly fill in the blank. By far the worst class I have had to sit through. He is absolutely no help when you go into his office when you need guidance. He doesn't put the pictures on the powerpoints that he gives on vspace. Good luck!

Dr. Dalgarn is by far the worst professor I've ever had. I got a D in the class the first time, then wasn't doing well the second time and when I asked for help he made fun of me. I ended up passing, but it was hard. Study very trivial details A LOT for the fill in the blank tests and don't try to argue with him. I highly dislike this man.

Comment:
Cell Biology is a very difficult class mainly due to Dr. Dalgarn. His tests are very confusing and are mostly fill in the blank focusing on little trivial details instead of concepts that would actually help students learn the material. Unfortunately, he's the only prof teaching cell so just put in lots of study time and write down tiny details.

This class is super hard!! I am normally an A student and received a low B in the class. Dr. Dalgarn is very knowledgeable, but doesn't share his knowledge well with the students. I always felt like he was talking right over my head, and when you ask questions he talks around the answer.

This class is not that horrible if you actually put the time in. To get an A, you have to study hard and understand the format of his tests. The paper/presentation is easy points, you get to pick your topic. Lab is simple as well. Work hard, play hard.

Straight to the point. If he repeated it more than twice then it was bound to be on the test. If you pay attention and study hard then you are sure to score a great score. Don't be scared of the fill in the blank questions they just make you study that much harder. Don't study to regurgitate study to memorize and fully understand.

Horrible professor. Hard class, very tricky exam questions and very ambiguous. Is not open for any kind of argument, it's his way or none.

Worst class and horrible professor. Kiss your GPA goodbye after this. Class consists of him reading you the powerpoints for 3 straight hours. Tests are about 75% fill in the blank. Studying for a dozen hours will get you a B at best. He is brutal on the paper even though he says he isn't. He needs to retire because he is the worst prof Ive ever had

Worst class I have ever taken! I'm an honors student and I failed this class after studying for hours! No matter how much you study, he still manages to find little details that you can't possibly remember...

Terrible. The class is very unorganized and he likes to ramble on about random topics (which are NOT relevant). Pay attention to the little facts that he says during class. They may seem insignificant but they will be on the exams.

I've had Dr. Dalgarn for bio 111C and bio 360, and the people on here make him way worse than he seems. Just go to class and pay attention. If you study the notes and old exercises you will easily get a high B to an A on the tests.Dr. Dalgarn is also very helpful if you go to his office. Don't be scared by the negative comments on here.

Horrible prof. Doesn't explain anything if you ask for help and is very arrogant. But if you study and take good notes you should do fine... Just frustrating to go through this class with him.

Well, many students came up to me and asked how i was doing in the class. Turns out many were failing. He gives many power point slides, and his focus in the class is plants. When having his class you should start studying immediately. Gives about 5 exams, and curves your grade if you miss no more than 3 days. STUDY! Good luck if you have him!

Curves are pretty big at the end but you have to attend class to get it. Really tough lab and lec exams and got excited about a 65 class average which I thought was horrible. Pay attention but the slides are kinda helpful but he'll test on everything he said, not just on the slides. Book useless.

I thought he was a really great, sweet professor. It was hard to pay attention sometimes but if you take notes and use the power point slides then you will do great on the tests. I really liked him and he was willing to help.

Class is a little boring, but the information needed for exams are in the powerpoints. The book is not really necessary. There is a lot of material covered in the exams, and the class is entirely based off them- one bad grade, and you're struggling to bring it back up for the rest of semester. He is willing to help students understand the material

What can I say? Botany was boring... xylem, phloem... (yawn). But, Dr. Dalgarn wasn't as bad as some people make him out to be. Although, I wouldn't recommend this class to any of those lazy, whiny people who ever so often leave terrible comments because they refuse to work for their grade.
