Awesome teacher! Very encouraging! He is willing to offer insight regarding your papers if you ask in advance of the deadline, and you will learn so much in his classes! He makes a lot of jokes too, so class is always fun.

Comment:

Pretty good professor, very passionate and knowledgeable about what he teaches. He does a good job of covering everything you need to know for exams, and is very willing to help when you have questions. Essays are take home, but difficult and time consuming (if you want a good grade). Overall good experience!

Fantastic professor! I'm sad that I'm not at UAH anymore just because I won't be able to take his classes anymore. I had him for Mythology and World Lit II. He loves what he does and inspires that love for lit in others. And he sang passages of The Peach Blossom Fan. Sang. Awesome.

Dr. Neff is one of the best English teachers I've ever had. Even having taken his class early in the morning, I never dreaded going to class. The books he chose were extremely interesting and I actually enjoyed the challenge the class provided to me.

a GREAT teacher - covers the most taboo of topics with ease and encourages literary analysis!! with both in-class essays and objectives, it will challenge you, but not overwhelmingly. reading is a must, but hardly a burden with the selected reading.

I loved this professor! He was so funny to me. He likes to joke around and he's actually interesting to listen to. Attendance not mandatory for this class, but I didn't mind dropping in every now and then anyways. He grades papers easy and always left uplifting comments on my papers. I would definitely take Neff for anything that he teaches!

Dr. Neff is by far the finest professor I have ever had. He's brilliant, witty, approachable, and genuinely interested in how well you learn. He expects a lot from you, but he gives a lot in return. Take him for ANYTHING at ANY TIME, even if you think you hate literature. You'll be glad you did!

I was an English major, so I had Dr. Neff for a few classes. All other things being equal, he was my top choice. He's smart, funny, and very open-minded. Know that you'll be able to present any argument you like, as long as you back it up. Just have perfect punctuation and no typos! He marked me off half a letter grade for a typo once. He's still a great prof, though.
