Comment:
I'm terrible at physics and the material was next to impossible for me. Dr. Peterson is very intimidating, very blunt, and the problems he expects you to work through can seem pretty unreasonable. BUT Dr. Peterson only seems to care if you try. He grades entirely on effort. Anyone else would have failed me, but I got a B just for showing thought.

Sure he was arrogant and did prey on the weak, but he made you think. He made me realize that physics is a different level of thinking. He was clear, concise, and very thorough in his teaching methods. If you want to do well, you have to work for it and you'll retain the material way more than an "easy" teacher.

Never had to take a class with this guy, but had to interact with him as chairman of the Physics Department. He is very condescending, and lacks character. It disappoints me when I see PhD's put into leadership rolls within learning institutions, when they clearly don't care about the students whom they are employed to help succeed.

Comment:
Dr. Peterson has a condescending attitude toward students that gets old very quickly. He also proudly proclaims himself to be "an unreasonable professor." BUT.. he practically gives away grades; you will get plenty of credit for at least attempting a problem. His easy grading makes up for everything else, imo.

He makes you sit in assigned seats like your in elementary school. He talks to you like your illiterate and is very condescending at times. HOWEVER I did get a C+ in his class and I have no idea how. He definitely must have curved grades cause I nearly failed according to my test grades.

EVER SIT DOWN AT THE DOCTORS AND WHAIT TO GET CALLED. THATS HOW I FELT ABOUT THE CLASS. HIS MATERIAL IS VERY UNNECESSARY. PHYSICS IN HIGH SCHOOL WAS WAY BETTER. AND HE TALKS LOW. PLUS VERY BORING. AND HAS A NASTY ATIITUDE. OH DID I SAY BORING.

Peterson's tough, but very understandable. You do have to do the homework problems he gives, and learn the formulas, BUT YOU ACTUALLY LEARN IT. He teaches you a new way to think and in the end is a really great professor. This man is a genius!

He is a great prof that truly understands the subject matter. Some don't like the fact that he can be sarcastic. Don't take it too seriously (he never seems to deliberately hurt feelings to me), and you'll be fine. Tests are all the same format, and he's great on partial credit; just make sure you know formulas. Recommended.

If you study your notes, and work some of your homeowrk problems before the test, you'll do fine. He doesn't help answer questions in class but he is always available in his office. I suggest getting a "study group" together to work problems.

OK, the subject is hard, but he makes it as easy as possible. If you follow his methods of study, you'll do well. If you don't keep up, though, you'll fail miserably.

Dr. Peterson is one of the best professors in the physics department. In order to pass this class you must do the homework and study the notes. His examples are most liklely what will be on the test.

Dr. Peterson is great he grades his tests very leniently and it is hard to make a bad grade. If you fail his class it is because you are stupid. I took Peterson for 202 last semster and got an "a". Did you ever think that its not the professor.

Dr. Peterson is like a modern day Hitler. He makes a person feel extremely dumb and outcasted from his inner circle. How can you be educated but have no social education? He treated me like an eight year old EMD student. He'll make you feel suicidal.
