Comment:
The class is more rigorous than most Bentley Finance majors will be capable of, but not impossible and actually very manageable if you are at all academically inclined. Two tests (very fairly on material) and two short projects constitute the grade.

He is nice and patient but the class is really difficult. You have to spend lots of time to review it. You can learn a lot. His class is very practical and the materials get close to real word. Worth to take it!

He just stay in the world of himself and ignore whether his students catch his sentences. Maybe he is a talented person but he is definitely lack of kindness. He never thinks standing in the perspective of his students and build up effective communication with the whole class. He does't know how to teach others at all.

He is a very good and clear professor in explaining very complex concepts. The only problem is his explanation for a few examples that creates confusion.

GPA killer. Very hard professor, expect students to know everything about derivatives. Exams are short answers and essay types, very hard and tricky.

Derivatives is not an easy class. If you haven't taken an intro class during your undergrad, you wont be able to pass this class. Simon is a good professor but the course material is very difficult and long. His projects are hard and exams are tricky. Hard to follow in class because he goes too fast and thinks students know all the derivative lingo

Hands down Dr. Simon is the best finance professor at Bentley. His classes are tough, but very fair. He does a great job really explaining concepts from the ground up so you really understand them. He's incredibly accessable, always helpful, and just an all around nice guy. If you take his class you'll work hard but learn a ton! Great Professor!

If you survive his course, you will either have learned a lot, or you would have just left civilization for good. He runs at a pace that is faster than what normal students would expect. And he is a grade killer. But all this brings a certain tension to one's mind that actually helps while studying. In the end, you actually learn a lot in class.

I had never learned so much in a class room before! A professor that I respect for the interest that he takes to make a student learn the subject. He has all the knowledge about the subject he teaches. His classes are tough but his grades are fare. So that offsets. Overall, excellent professor, the best professor at Bentley College.

Good guy, nice and friendly, extremely smart. He used to work for the Federal Reserve. quote "performance is the only thing that really matters". Good teacher overall, but HARD AS HELL! messy notes and he doesn't really use blackboard. If you want a challenging, go for it. If you are relying on passing this class to graduate, youve got to be stupid

He is very organized. Study his notes, write down everything he says and do the homework. You will be fine in exams. Difficult subjects but he explains everything. He goes over things very fast though. Easy grader in comparison to other finance prof.
