Dr. Vila is a great professor. He is so helpful and caring. Papers and tests are easy because he gives you very clear guidelines to follow. His lectures are very interesting, full of different perspectives (yay for being open-minded) and funny stories.

Would highly recommend Introduction to Islam as a Gateway class to anyone interested in learning more about the Islamic faith. Dr. Vila is extremely knowledgable and passes on that knowledge to students. The class includes reading large portions of the Koran, learning about the culture, and visiting a Mosque.

I have had Dr. Vila for several classes (Honors) and have enjoyed them. I find myself regularly using some of the language he uses in class. He teaches concepts very well. You will walk away remembering what matters. He is hilarious and lectures well with plenty of jokes and gags. One of the best professors at JBU hands down!

Dr. Vila is a must take!! I am in his NT class and it is wonderful! My favorite class this semester! He isn't too hard, and you learn A LOT. He tells you when he is going to give quizzes and he prepares you for the midterm & final. He is so funny and always willing to help. He is always willing to clarify anything!!! I am taking him again for OT!

Have had 2 classes with Dr. Vila and hope to have more with him. He is an awesome funny really cool prof. I loved being in his class though it wasn't necessarily easy, it was a great learning experience and very enjoyable.

Vila is an excellent professor. I really like the way he taught the class. He was very objective when talking about the bible and didn't say one way of believing was right or wrong. He definitely challenged me but I have a better love fr Christ and feel like I learned a lot! TAKE HIM!

WONDERFUL professor. He's extrememly knowledgeable and always wants you to learn. He doesn't force his opinion on you. He cares about you as a person. His tests are easy compared to other Bible professors. He doesn't make you remember tons of details. You just need to understand the important concepts. I would take more classes with him if I could.

Best professor I have had at JBU!! He is a wonderful person as well. All of his instructions are clear, he makes sure you remember when you're assignments are, but also lets you investigate your own interest within the topic. Tests are not too hard if you study. TAKE HIS CLASS!! You will NOT regret it!!!!

Relatively easy classes, especially for those that already know the Bible pretty well. However, I did not enjoy them. I disagree with much of his doctrine. Although he's really nice, he doesn't seem to realize that education does not necessarily make a person correct, in spiritual matters.
