One of the greatest professors who truly knows about art. Although theres a good amount of work its very interesting if you love history. Upside to the workload is that she's an easy grader and allows students to really voice their views and opinions. Also has extra credit. Super nice and is always laughing so theres rarely a dull moment.

Prof Rogers is a wonderful professor. I 1st met her when I 1st attended Mesa College and decided 2 give myself a challenge by taking her honors class for Art 109. To say the least, both the regular class and honors class were easy. As long as you showed up to class everyday (only twice a wk 4 her class) and do study guide, you're guaranteed an A.

Denise knows ART! I wasn't looking forward to this class, yet it turned out to be a class I looked forward too! Complete your assignments, don't procrastinate and it will be smooth sailing. I was most inspired learning about performance art. Preview if you're interested, Yoko Ono "Cut Piece," and Yves Klein "Blue Women Art"

This was such a good class. We went over different art from different countries throughout history. Exams are pretty easy but you do them at home. If you miss class you will fall behind so go to class. She offers enough extra credit and make up that you can get an A as long as you try.

Most frustrating online classes I have taken. Her lectures in the beginning where lengthy by the end it was like she didn't care. I didn't use the textbook. She does this thing where she up loads everything last minute and expects you to take the quiz & write an essay in 24 hrs. Due dates not the same in syllabus/calendar/mygrades. Broken links.

I don't know why Prof. Rogers has such low reviews! She is so kind and really cares about her students success. She will work with you if you need help. Grade consists of three essays, research & museum paper, & a few online quizzes (w/study guides). Extra credit offered! I am taking her again for Asian Art online, I highly recommend Prof. Rogers.

I've actually taken this professor for two classes now, African Art and Asian Art. Her lectures are outstanding. If you have a genuine interest in art I strongly recommend you take her. Her knowledge plus her passion for art made this a class I looked forward to every single time.

I took her online African Art class and it was a little harder than most online classes. She provides extra credit though which allowed me to get an A. You don't have to buy a textbook since she provides all the readings. The class was very interesting and worth while.

Took her this summer. There's lots of reading to do, 4 essays, 1 long essay that requires you to go to a library and research through books (which I had no time to do), Museum visit, few extra credit work, and she takes long to grade. Its not a bad class unless you're someone that is ok with reading 2-4 hours daily, and finishes some work on time.

I took an online course this summer, and I'm 100 percent sure it would be better if it weren't online. I'm used of using blackboard, and I expected it to be just as organized online as the other classes. Not the case. There's about 6 papers, and you can only access certain essays through announcements. A huge pain. She doesn't grade quickly either.

Research outside of the book for exams. Learn how to look deeper into the textbook for others ; answers are not always obvious. Also use her lectures and powerpoints for other answers. Will give extra time for assignments and exams if you ask. Sometimes available to answer questions on discussion board or through blackboard messaging not email.

I had Denise for an online intersession class, meaning 4 weeks. To be honest I expected the workload to be way worse. We had a short essay each week, and two big papers due at the end of the 4 weeks. Textbook access code was required. I didnt listen to the online lectures and I did fine. Most work was available from the beginning. Nothing crazy.

This is not a hard class. Lectures are really boring, but they are not mandatory. THERE IS SO MUCH WORK. 4 essays, 10 online quizzes, a 6 page research paper, an oral presentation. There are no in class tests, which is super nice, but I hope you like writing papers.. Easy class if you like busy work

Denise is a nice person, but not as great of an instructor. She seems to be a bit disorganized with her files and class schedule. Very difficult to follow along during her lectures - she flips back and forth between slides, and relies on students to fill in the blanks. If someone asks a question, she doesn't respond with a straight answer.

The class was pretty easy honestly, as it primarily consisted of 4 short essays (2 pages), like 10 open book quizzes, and a 6 page research paper. The lectures however were incredibly boring, and you honestly dont benefit much from attending class. All you need is the book and to look at her power points online and you'll do fine.

Denise clearly enjoys teaching art, but the class is a bit boring. 3 tests ( 1 drop), research paper, and a write up about a piece. overall the class is not hard at all. She tells you what will be on the test, test questions are 1:1 whats on the study guide. Take notes on lectures and you'll never need to open the book. lots of extra credit

This class requires a lot of note taking of tests. It is tough to get an A but manageable. 3 tests, research paper, presentation and museum assignment. She is a good teacher but the class is a bit unorganized. Some of the material won't be covered by test time and she will tell you the class before. She needs to narrow down the study guide sooner.

DO NOT take this class if you only need it for a required credit and looking for an "give away". I took it because it was required and assumed it would be easy. This class is equivalent to a 300 level art history class. She is very "in to" modern art and enthusiastic about it but is not very well organized and/or direct on what she wants from you.

She is extremely generous however it's a lot of coursework for an art class. She is very specific to what she expects on exams so she grades tough however She lets you use notes on exams. Expect a 6 page paper, a few 3-5 page papers, and to prepare an oral presentation.
