Comment:

A phenomenal prof! Has a talent in making this subject easy to understand/learn. He does simplify much of the material, but I think that's helpful, esp for those who have math anxiety! Really wished he taught 95&105 when I took them; I think I would have enjoyed those courses more if he had. Very kind, patient, and understanding toward students!

Comment:

Don Makande was the best instructor that I have ever had. Ever. Period. I genuinely never understood math and he made me understand long division. I literally couldn't even do my time tables in my head until he got ahold of me. I know that sounds dramatic but it's accurate. I owe my most recent promotion to Don honestly.

The best! I got my first ever A in math in his class. He thoroughly explains everything he does in an easy to understand way. He is amazing!

Mr. Makande is awesome and a little funny! He takes time to go over EVERYTHING in class that you have for homework so you know if you have done it correctly. This really helped me to get a better understanding of the work since I am terrible at math. If you struggle with math he would be a good teacher for you.

He is simply amazing, each class you get handouts and thats all you need to study for his quizes, the quizes are just like the handouts simple and easy. His class is fun he's very funny and outgoing!, very understandable, HOMEWORK ( JUST A FEW QUESTIONS ) all the quizes are nultiple choice and you dont fail for not attending , easy A's

Comment:

Mr. Makande is a great instructor. However, he didn't challenge the class enough. People in the classroom talked out of turn and Mr. Makande contributed to it instead of talking to them after or out of class and neglected to assist people that were there to learn. I decided to skip class a lot and still left with an A.

He is very easy to understand, despite sometimes going off topic. His review packets that you receive right before the test are VERY similar or almost the same problems you would come across on his exams. So if you do those packets for review, then you will ace his class.

Great Math Teacher! I think he is perfect for those that struggle in Math because he really wants people to understand. Not a ton of homework which some people didn't like. It worked perfectly for me! Do what he suggests and attend class and you'll do great! This is the first time in my life that I enjoyed a math class.

Don is so wonderfully animated and makes learning fun! I missed two classes due to illness and emailed him right away and he was very accommodating. He gives a lot of handouts that are very helpful for the tests! Study hard and come to class!

I've taken Don Makande since April of 2012 for math; it'd been almost 10 years since i'd been back to school and he made learning so easy! He doesn't make you fell stupid for not understanding, instead he helps you understand. He teaches his course very well and I highly recommend him to anyone who enjoys teachers who articulate visually.

Not only did I take Don for math 65, but the next term I took him for 95! He was the BEST math professor I have ever had at PCC, by far! If you do well on all five of his quizzes, you do not have to take his final! Highly recommended, especially those that struggle in math and need to pass these classes.

I enjoyed the class and easily learned the material presented. However, if you plan to conitue to Math 111, you will NOT be prepared. I am deeply disappointed in my lack of knowledge and foundation going forward. Math 111 is hard, and much harder not learning the foundation material completely

I really enjoyed how Mr. Makande teaches. He is patient, and really knows his stuff. He will show you various ways to solve the same problem. Pay attention, and do what he recommends, and you'll do fine.

Prof. Makande is great! As an older student who has not done classroom math in 30 years, he was a big hlp in gettng back into the swing of things. Never understood some of what is learned in this class, but I now get it! Will have him as an instructor as much as possible.

Good teacher. Professional, respectful of students. Knows the subject thoroughly and is able to "teach" the subject of mathmatics very well. PCC is lucky to Dr. Makande. I was pleasantly surprised by how he was able to keep students typically not interested in math interested and doing well, something you don't see everyday. Would take again
