I plugged in the China course because the one I tookin 1968Major Asian Political Institutions--is apparently no longer offered; pity. Prof. Zagoria, was young, insightful, impatient w/opinionated ideologues, and totally brilliant--probably why some loved him and others did not. After 50 yrs he's kept the faith, well mine anyway. I attended his course on the "Politics of Revolution" at Hunter in Spring 1969. I'm amazed he is still teaching after close to 40 years. He was and probably is still brillant!

A terrible professor!!!! He was verbally abusive and to the students that did stand up or speak up he was berating and punitive with their grade. Seems like he feels old and threatened by his students and acts cruel and hateful as a result. I didn't learn a thing about foreign or domestic policy.

He is intelligent, funny, and knows how to put pseudo-intellectuals into their place! I learned a lot from his class and am thankful to have been able to encounter such an amazing professor. And... he gave me an A :)

Worst professor I've ever encountered. Do NOT take any of his classes. He is opinionated, rude, disrespectful and unreasonable. We had to buy 5 textbooks and read several chapters for every class. The exam questions were hand picked details from excessive readings which he was supposed to go over in class but rarely did.

If you are an ideologue don't even bother,Zagoria is a realist who can explain very clearly and without pressure that nothing is going to get done if we base our politics on ideological principles. If you want to learn how the game of politics is really being played- take him. He picks good and interesting literature to read and makes good remarks

Don't listen to these people. Yes, he expects you to know, read, and pay attention to the material. He wants thoughtful answeres to his questions. But you will find very few people teaching political science who are as knowledgeable and involved as he is. If you are REALLY interested in the topics, take him. If you want an easy class, don't/.

Zagoria started out as an OK professor, a little boring but not too bad. At the end of the semester he became very cranky and rude and instilled a bit of fear in his students by changing grading criteria and whatnot. That being said, I was graded extremely fairly, so I guess my worrying was for nothing.

Straight up Prick, a strong sense of favoritism in the class, he doesn't specify on anything. He expects students to agree with him on every aspect and if you dont get ready to be ignored or humiliated. Don't take him at all he should retire.
