Here's how our humor philosophy FYS was: classes were easy; she told us that grades aren't important; it was generally chill and fun-highlight of the day. Easy A, right? Wrong! She's funny but entirely insane; she talks to electronic devices. She plays favorites and doesn't give clear instructions for anything. She didn't give grades for ANYTHING!

Comment:

Dorothy's a fantastic teacher with ton of energy and passion for her craft. She can be a little vague with assignments and critiques, and can be hard to read with regards to determining your performance in the class. There's never a dull class with her though.

I had her for Core. Overall, she's fun and friendly. She really wants to hear what you have to say, although sometimes she cuts you off when your points were not those she was looking for. I would say she's a hard grader. Definitely recommend her if you like an energetic, fun, and creative professor.

Dorothy is "yummy" and can get a class excited about anything. She's so energetic and I can't wait to see what happens if she ever becomes Chairwoman of the Theatre Department.

If you're a theater person like me, she's the greatest teacher ever and you will learn a lot. If you're less receptive to the artsy eccentric thing you might think she and the class are crazy, but for me, that's what made it fun.

One of the most energetic teachers I've had, although she was an adjustment after my awful, first-semester Core teacher; the two were polar opposites. Very nice lady, very willing to help. I even asked her to write a study abroad recommendation for me.

the best theatre prof at richmond! she is a great deal of fun and a fountain of knowledge. her proessinal experience as an actor/dancer helps a lot too. she is truly a gem and i would reccomend her classes to anyone!

Comment:

She's great and full of energy- no class with her is ever boring. However, essays with her are painful. She gives weird topics and doesn't explain what she wants. Hence, she grades essays rather harshly as Core teachers go. Still a lot of fun though.

Need to fulfil your FSVP requirement? TAKE A CLASS WITH HER!!! Hands down one of the most spontaneous, fun professors at the school; I would highly recommend her!
