Comment:

For starters Gallagher is super into stats, and he really cares about his students and wants you to succeed. Tests can be a challenge so make sure you study, though he lets you have a small note card. While the class was hard and I had to work my butt off, I enjoyed having him.

Comment:

Dr. Gallagher is great for 212. Lectures are him going over statistics and explaining it. Assignments are a little rough because they can be confusing. He will explain things as many times has he has to until it makes sense. Lets you have a note card for exams but I barely needed it with practice. Go to class! Take him and keep up and you'll pass!

I had Dr. Gallagher for 212, then again for s&p. He's a great professor- very knowledgeable and always there to help, especially during lab. ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON! The tests are pretty difficult so do well on the labs and online quizzes and you'll be fine!! Some of the questions on the exams come right from quizzes!

Comment:

Class is hard but so rewarding. If you skip you won't know what is going on for the next week. Dr Gallagher is extremely understanding and a great professor. The way he teaches made it easy for me to remember material. Key to the class is to read the textbook. 3 exams, 7 quizzes, a lab assignment every week, and final project! drops bottom 3.

Dr. Gallagher is fun and clearly cares about helping students learn to see statistics from a new perspective. Some classes are spent solely on examples, which allows you practice a lot. He allows you to use a notecard for tests, but usually you practice so much in class/lab that you won't need it anyway. Definitely taking another class with him!

Dr. Gallagher is a phenomenal professor. He can make any subject interesting, and class will fly by. DO NOT COME TO CLASS LATE OR SKIP. He absolutely hates that and will take points off your final grade. He is very clear about what to expect on tests, and is happy to help if you ask. Hates phones and laptops in class. You have to put in effort.

Dr. Gallagher is a passionate, funny, and great professor. This was the first semester this Evolutionary class was offered so he was clear he didn't know what direction he wanted to go with the class. Gives a ton of reading and pop quizzes about what you read. READ THEM! Some lectures some open discussion. Show up and participate-he notices.

Dr. Gallagher is an awesome professor! For 315 his slides are helpful but doesn't go through all of them one by one. Instead he picks the most important concepts because he expects you to read the book to get the other stuff. Assigns quizzes online so you can use your book(reuses same questions for tests). Not too hard of class. SHOW UP! He notices

Dr. Gallagher is the best professor I have had at Millersville. He focuses on helping students learn, not just memorize information. He wants you to understand what you are doing and why you are doing it. Although he gives a lot of assignments and quizzes, they are to help you learn. I will definitely take him again. Funny too!

Gallagher is only unclear if you didn't do well in 211 and 212 which might depend on who you took for that. The book is helpful but tests are mostly about what he says in class. Like he says, if you want to do well, show up.

Gallagher is super funny, passionate and has a large knowledge on his field. He had interesting lectures but when it came to papers and tests, everything was unclear. Many students were unsure of what was going on and felt confused and frustrated. He is helpful in office hours but I do not think I would take his class again.

shawn is a great professor. passionate. knowledgeable. sense of humor. lectures are helpful and interesting. always there to help you when you need it. reasonable expectations, but i had to work hard in this class, since i am not the most math-savvy person. i loved the class, and would take again. you will get a good grade if you work hard.

Dr. Gallagher is a great professor who is super passionate about his work. He's cool and fun to talk to. The downfall is that he gives super unclear instructions for papersexams. He makes you work for your grade, sometimes a little too hard. The key is, go to his office hours and don't slack. History and Systems was a Memorable class.

Really nice and pretty funny. Allows you to use cheat sheets on exams and is more than happy to help or go over problem in class until you get it. 3 exams, quizzes (sometimes pop, but he usually warns you in the class before), lab assignments (which he will help you with if you ask), and a poster session which is a group project.

Pros: If you need help, he will be there to help you. He is there to help his students, but if you don't put in effort or ask, then don't expect to do well. He's organized. He allows a cheat sheet on the exams and you can use notes on quizzes. CONS: He is really hard when he grades assignments.

Love Dr. Gallagher! He is very clear and organized with his teaching. This is not an easy course and it will take effort on your part as a student. However, he will give you all the tools you need to do well so take the advice he gives you!! Even though he doesn't focus on the textbook all that much, read it on your on time it will help you!

Assignments can be hard because he wants them done his way and does not tell you how that is. He also has an attitude sometimes, but as long as you put in the work you will pass!
