Comment:
Honestly, Dr. Morlino is not a good teacher. Sure, she'll help you if you ask for it, but she'll leave you to sink or swim. She posts only her handwritten notes and one back exam for every test. She's somewhat helpful during office hours, but she'll make you look stupid if you don't understand something. Take another professor and save your GPA.

1) A lot of the recent ones are probs from people who didn't prepare well enough and blame the teacher. 2) She is a good teacher, IF you are willing to be a good student. Don't miss lecture, use lecture capture, and use mastering chem. MC helps so much with the math, and if you can answer the learning objectives, it's an easy A

Likes chemistry, just doesn't seem to like teaching it. She isn't helpful, when you do come to her for help she judges you and if you find a mistake she ridicules you before admitting to a mistake. If you are forced to have her for Chem I, don't go to Mahalingam for chem II b/c you are expected to know the material that Morlino didn't cover.

She really is sweet. I feel like she tries to help and make the class understand. I just hated the fact that she made us watch old lecture videos on topics she skipped. But other than that, she gives you an outline of detailed notes and you just have to write your own notes on that. JUST READ TEXTBOOK AND DONT FORGET MASTERINGCHEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't do it. She loves intimidating people and she absolutely gets pleasure out of people failing. At least 1/3 of my chem 1 class failed, had to retake it. I made the mistake of taking her again for chem 2 and it ruined my GPA. By the way, if you don't go to class once or twice for legitimate reasons, she doesn't care. It will affect your grade.

This is a class that you have to teach yourself. She makes that really clear. So I would recommend getting a quality tutor.

Let me be clear: you'll fail without the textbook. Doing the practice problems is an essential supplement to mastering chem. Her office hours are somewhat restricted, but during recitation she's more than willing to help. Even then, she expects you to get partway there on your own.

I took ap chem last year and got a 5 and would still say I had to do a lot of work for this class. the exams are difficult. many of my friends who did not take ap chem are retaking the class. her lectures are unorganized which makes taking notes hard. she makes us watch old lecture videos on topics she skips in class.

I had Dr. Morlino for CH 101 and 102 and received an A both semesters. She is the hardest Chemistry teacher but you will learn the most from her. An A is manageable if you work for it! Do all MasteringChem and re-do the recitation problem sets. Take very detailed notes and you will get that A.

I took her both semesters and got the same grade. Her exams weren't tough. You have to pay attention in class and redo recitations then you WILL get A's on her exams. She's a very nice person, and very clear with her teaching. She's the most fair of them all.

An A is achievable in her class, but you will have to work for that A. I didnt take AP Chem and I was able to get an A- in the fall and a A in the spring. Yes you will want to kill yourself after each exam for the hell you will be receiving, But you will leave that class an expert in gen chem your friends who took AP chem will be asking you for help

I had her for both CH101 and 102 and I thought she was the best out of all 3 chem professors. I had Fasella for 1 day and I knew I needed to switch out. She explains the concepts clearly. She is hard but I only do masteringchem and rewrite notes and I ace her exams.

She was very unhelpful and intimidating during her office hours. She didn't seem like whe wanted to help you or cared about you as a student. Her tests were difficult, but hw, quizzes were manageable.

I had Dr. Morlino for CH102. She's good at explaining concepts and answering questions. Exams are mostly concept-based but manageable if you do MasteringChemistry and end of chapter problems. If you put in the work for this class, you'll have a good knowledge base for orgo. So far, most of the things she's taught have reappeared in orgo.

Really friendly and really helpful. She has the hardest exams compared to the other chemistry teachers, but they are not that hard. You just have to study and know the concept behind things. Half the tests are concept, half math. Also has printable notes to make learning easier.

Morlino is a fantastic teacher. She gives excellent anecdotes during class to make comprehension easier. She is more than willing to help whether during or outside of class and always answers email questions. If you are willing to work for it, you can get in the A range w/o a problem. Exams have more conceptual Qs than math.
