This professor is definitely a class worth taking to get that extra A. As long as you pay attention in class and write down everything he tells you, you will pass the class. He tells you everything that will be on the test. He likes to keep the class entertained as well, so it is not all that boring. I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

Great professor! He tells you what is exactly on the test and as long as you study that you will be fine! You only have to go to two performances and write a paper on them! We never stayed in class the whole time! Take him!!!

Attendance is not mandatory. There is really no point in going to class expect the week before the test to get the review and the night of the test. He will tell you everything you need to study during the review so listen carefully. We had to attend two performances and write reviews on them but nothing hard just what you observed. Easy class.

Very easy and is surely not alot of memorizing, just study the questions and notes that he gives you and you will have a sure A in the class. It's that simple. If you have to take music take him because he is the best.

THE NICEST teacher I have ever had at FMU so far. We had smoke breaks before class all the time, he's a really great guy :) Tests are easy if you study, he tells you exactly what to study. Highly recommend!!

"Do I really have to get a 94 to make an A in this class?" you ask. Yes, but when you know 95% of the questions in advance, how hard can that be? Would you believe that some people STILL make 30's in the class? Yeah, and many make 100's, so it's simply up to you. Study = 100; No Study = Dumb Move.

If you have to take Music 101, he is the guy to take, even if it is at night. He tells you exactly what will be on the test, and you only have to attend 2 recitals per semester. Tests are easy. Also you never have to stay the whole 3 hours.

I think Dr. Matthews is extremly cool. He gives great notes and his reviews for the test come exactly from the test. The most important thing is that he feels just like we do. He doesn't want to stay in class for 3 hours just like we don't.
