By far the WORST professor Ive ever had in my entire life. Literally communicates nothing to students and is condescending to every question asked. No clear grading. On the grade page I was passing till somehow I failed and didnt even have the decency to explain how I did that. Just spoke down to me again. If I could rate lower than a 1 I would.

I am a graduating senior and i can genuinely say that this is the worst professor I have taken at JMU. She has no idea how to work canvas other than how to adjust the home page. She sends no reminders of when assignments are due. She won't let you make up assignments even if it just one day late.

Comment:

Not much to say about this course other than avoid this professor. Every assignment is on webworks and the only help you're allowed to get is through email and you're forbidden from getting help from the math center on assignments. I'd rather watch paint dry for 5 hours than take this class again.

Don't take her online class!!! She marks work wrong even if the online hw site marks it correct. She doesn't tell you your grade. She sends out about 20 links for every homework and none are helpful. She also never actually answers any questions. She emails sassy messages the day that homework are due even thought they're due at midnight.

I'm convinced she doesn't know how to speak English. Every time I asked her a question she gave me a riddle as an answer. She wasn't helpful at all and I learned nothing in this class. Take this class in person and with someone else.

Anybody who says she is a good teacher is a sadist. Her lessons are taken from other colleges and have nothing to do with assignments. The rare times she will reply to your e-mails she wont respond to the questions. If I totaled my actual grade I should've gotten a B and yet she gave me a C. Avoid it. It's just not worth it.

I was so scared to take this class after reading all of the awful reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. I finished with an A in the class and she was always extremely helpful when I had any questions. I don't know why she has such a bad reputation, but if you read the notes and turn in the WebWork assignments on time - you'll do completely fine!

This class was a waste. I'm pretty sure I failed, and it is an entry level math. Prof is a joke and extremely rude. I'm appalled that this person is even at such a great school like JMU. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

This course was terrible online. The was not very helpful at all, and the WebWork assignments were unrelated to the readings half the time. The math itself is fairly easy, things that we probably learned in high school, but the newer, more difficult questions are not 'taught', we have to 'figure it out'.

Avoid at all costs. Spent needless hours over the webwork slaving over each one just to get the 100. I missed 1 entire assignment(out of a lot) and only got problems wrong on 2 others. having aced every other assignment I was completely shocked to have received a C- I emailed for a reason but was told simply "ask me next semester"

I thought this class would be a breeze because its 103 online. Little did I know this class screwed me over completely. Ended up with a w because I didn't want to to ruin my GPA. Impossible to get an A or B. Get off your lazy behind and take this class in the classroom with an easy teacher.

Class is not worth it, DONT TAKE ONLINE. Is too conceptual for 103 and had to drop the class because of it. Teacher isn't helpful and ridicules you if you complain. I thought I could take it, and it screwed me over in the end.

DON'T CONSIDER TAKING THIS CLASS ONLINE! Her grading scale doesn't make any sense, & even when u have the question answered correctly she takes off points. Never received lower then a B+ in a math course & I have a D. Save urself the trouble & don't take this class. Currently in my last semester & I have higher grades in upper level finance courses

She's very nice and wants her students to pass. She knows the material, but sometimes has a hard time answering the questions in the manner expected by the asker/class. Take this class, it isn't that bad. Just do the modules even though they aren't graded. They'll help a ton at the midterm and final. Yes, she has a French accent, but it's not heavy

She is a nice lady. She has a problem with overcomplicating the material. The material is easy and I learned most of it in middle school. The textbook teaches you everything. She grades on a curve. There are lots of quizzes. Don't give up or you'll get cynical and stop trying, which is how most people who take her class get low marks.

She's not so great at teaching or getting her point across, but if you really put the effort into the class and she sees that, she will "give" you a grade. I usually averaged Ds on assignments and ended up with a B+. If you can avoid her do, but if not she's manageable with a little effort. She just tends to make things harder than they are.
