Comment:

Lectures would be livable if they were at all related to material he tests on. His greatest skill is making unoffensive things sound offensive. A bit condescending at times. I genuinely believe that he's an alright guy, he's just not a good prof. Take this class as a chance to sit in the back row and do work for other classes. Or take someone else.

Comment:

How to get a B+ or higher: 1. Turn in all assignments/discussion posts on time. 2. Pay very close attention to formatting on written assignments. 3. Online quizzes: 10 Qs, 8 mins. Take the quizzes in teams. 1 person on the quiz. 1 person on his powerpoint, 1 person on his definitions sheet, 2 people on the book, 2 on google. Or just take Parish:)

Comment:

The worst teacher I have taken in the business school. Lectures are completely pointless and he probably spends less than 15 minutes of the actual lecture on the class material. It is true he has no final or tests in the class but the quizzes are essentially as hard and I don't think there was a class average on a quiz higher than a 60%.

Comment:

McNary is not a hard teacher. He asks a lot from you as students as far as out of class work goes, but he doesn't grade anything strictly. If you turn in the assignment you automatically get above a 90. He's kind of boring but I found him funny for some odd reason even though he can be a little harsh. No tests if you do well on quizzes.

He has a bad reputation but he's a good guy. Just show up and you will get an A. His classes are extremely lecture heavy but he's a funny guy. His quizzes are hard so make sure you actually study for them but he has 2 papers and I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually read them and hands out A's. One of the easiest classes I've ever taken.

Comment:

The majority of the class is hw and quizzes. The quizzes are very difficult and not based on the lectures at all - 10 Qs and have a time limit of 8 mins. Theres 1 every week. However, he grades easily on the cases (4) and papers (2) and you don't take the final if you have a C+ or better. Lectures are boring, I just did other work during class.

Terrible professor. Complete blowhard. Doesn't care about anything but the sound of his own voice. Rude and offensive. Class assignments are ridiculous and you learn very little. Mocks students who are struggling during class. He gets a 1 grade, but deserves a zero. Take someone else.

This class is all lectures and quizzes. The quizzes are very difficult. Basically, you need to show up and read, the lectures have nothing to do with quizzes so you have to get the book. The only nice thing is he grades easily on the cases and papers and the final is not mandatory as long as you have a C+ or better. His commentary can be kinda rude.

He's hilarious but gets a bad rap because students that sit in the back don't pay attention and then do laughably bad on the quizzes. His lectures are funny and he's actually got first hand experience on the law, so if you listen you might learn something. All said, McNary is one cool dude.

I can't believe the low ratings on this site for Professor McNary. I took his class in the spring semester and he is by far the best professor I've had. His quizzes are slightly difficult, so study or you will not do well. But even with a poor quiz grade, you can still get a B+ or an A if you do well on discussions and papers, which are not hard.

I would recommend avoiding him as a professor. He isn't the worst person in the world, but he is very offensive. All his grades are based off a percentage of the total percentage, so if you don't miss class the first half, you have to go to the rest or your grade will drop. The quizzes are hard and his lectures do nothing. The book works best.

Do not take this teacher. He is not a nice man and is offensive during his lectures. You won't learn anything and the quizzes are extremely difficult even if you read the book, which is also $300 dollars. Avoid at all costs.

Everything but quizzes is an easy 100% for the most part. However, he is self absorbed and arrogant. He continuously talks down to students and repeats the same phrases over and over again. One of the most not understanding and uncooperative teachers I have had.

Not as bad as everyone says he is but the lectures can get boring. You do not have to take the final for his class as long as you pass the quizzes. Grades papers and cases very easily. Not great, not terrible.

If at all possible, do not take him. There's a weekly discussion post and 4 comments (2 one day and then 2 24 hours later, they're annoying), horrible chapter quizzes (aka 10 question chapter tests that are t/f, multiple choice, and fill in the blank), 5 cases (not too bad), and 2 written assignments (pointless). Quizzes are 30% of your grade too

This class has a lot of busy work every week you cover a case where you have to answer questions and also comment in your colleagues responses. Weekly quizzes they are hard my average was a 7 out of 10. 2 papers and 5 case studies. Basically a lot of homework to work own all the time but relatively easy expect for quizzes.

READ THIS ONE. He gives weekly quizzes that are no longer online. They are on respondus, meaning you cannot have any other tabs on your computer opened up. I averaged 5/10 on quizzes. They are difficult and will bring your grade down. MAKE SURE TO PREPARE FOR A WHILE BEFORE THESE. Will give papers and cases. Follow directions and they're easy.

Gives quizzes he calls test practically every week. Easy layup if you have the vocab list open to look at, god bless for the other 8 questions. Secret papers due so make sure you check the modules writing assignments. Easy B if you don't really work. Watch out for the splash zone in the front row, wear a poncho.

After reading all of these comments, I'm surprised! i just took his class an found what he had to say interesting. Although it was an 8 am. If you do the work and show up for class, you will be fine. His lectures get long winded, but its not bad to listen to. He allows late assignments and to take the quizzes. don't know why he has such a bad rap.

Hands down WORST teacher I have ever had in my life. He shouts his entire lecture, can be really offensivecreepy, and is overall just a very unpleasant person to be around... Do NOT take his class.
