VERY knowledgeable, happy to help, and is very clear and organized. You will have to study a good amount but you will actually learn in this class. He provides the textbook for free. Only three exams and one book review, the rest is lecture.

hes great, his lectures are actually interesting. He is very willing to help yo succeed. He allows pages of notes for each test. You dont really need to read but it does help to copy notes from for tests. Attendance is the like dont miss more than 3 days kinda deal. And there is a book review but its super short and easy because you pick your book.

He is very respected and lecture heavy, but really caring and will work with you. He lets you use a cheat sheet on every exam front and back, and the exams are super easy (pick a topic and write 3 sentences on it, 5 sections) you have a book review to write 3 pages on a history book (i read 50/250 pages of mine and did perfect) highly recommend

Dr. P is super passionate and very smart. He lectures the whole time but they're super interesting. He reads excerpts from books and gives us fun class activities. Every time I email him he's super helpful. He's not a tough grader either.

He is very dry at first, but after talking about his passion he is very interesting. You are put into groups after the 1st week. He does have reading outside of class but you should just read before the test. His test is all written no multiple choice. He is very understanding.

Dr. Prokopowicz is a funny man. He cares about his students and his History after 1878 is a fun class to take. He relates things in the past to modern day society so that young college kids can understand. This teacher is respectful and it's a very easy class. Just show up and listen and you will get an 80 or higher.

He is awesome and funny! Don't skip many lecture classes, it will be hard to pass since that's where he gets his exam questions from but you can bring notes with you to the exams. Section class: attendance is big and a good part of your grade. He loves when students go to his office and get help/ clarification. It shows you care about your grade.

Dr. P was great. I enjoyed HIST 1050. I earned an A. History is my favorite subject and I've always done well in history classes. I had to spend a few hours of studying before the quizes and final exam. Go to class, pay attention, read your textbook, and you'll pass the class. Hope you enjoy it!

This is my second time taking Dr. P, but this time in a 3000 level course. Honestly, he's one of the best professors at ECU. Extremely clear, concise and helpful. His tests can be challenging, but you're able to retain all the knowledge from his lectures, so it's not bad. HIGHLY recommend!

Interesting class. This was my first college class, and Professor Prokopowicz fit the epitome of a college professor. Received an A, just make sure to go to class and take good lecture notes. Read the assigned readings. Very enjoyable and interesting, not terribly hard.

Did not think he was a good teacher at all, very boring and monotone voice and all he does is lecture. No powerpoints or anything. VERY time consuming, must read book to get any sort of decent grade on his tests. Would not recommend taking him

I had him for Civil War history and he was really interesting. I never opened any of the books on the syllabus and I'm going to make an A. There's one long paper (12-15 pages), but he lets you write it on whatever and helps along the way.

One of the best teachers I've ever had, if you go to ECU for a history related field he is a must take. Very good presentation, puts information in a relatable context. I will be sure to take him again.
