Quite intimidating at first (demanded to be called sir), but an extremely nice and funny guy. He gets nicer as the semester goes on and is extremely helpful. Delights in teaching. For fencing, no need to buy the textbook. Make sure you take the opportunity to talk to the TA about exams.

Comment:

Master Plichta is one of THE best professors I've ever had. He is very intimidating at fist, but he is SO much fun to have for class after that. I had him for fencing and I learned so much from him. He made me fall in love with the sport and want to continue even after the class was over. He also loves Hello Kitty and everything Asiatic!

I took fencing with him and not only did I try something I never would've done but I learn so much about life... and mainly marriage. He is a wonderful wealth of knowledge and I encourage everyone to take his class. Plus there's no book.

I had him for tai chi. The first day I was super scared because he's pretty intimidating at first, but then he whips out his phone with about 100 (I kid you not!) Hello Kitty charms and you know it is going to be one interesting semester! He's really funny and kind. I highly recommend his class! It was super fun!

I took tai chi with him. He is hilarious!!! So he will make the class entertaining even if you are not really interested in the class. He always calls you young grasshoppers and you must call him seafu or master Plichta.
