Comment:
Dr. Kim is a solid professor. She is strategic and thorough in her lectures, has a strong teaching model, and provides phenomenal feedback. Truly takes the time to give great constructive criticism. There are a few assignments that are daunting, but overall the majority of the coursework is necessary to the learning process. Highly recommend!

Dr. Kim is one of the best professors in IUPUI, and even though she's a hard grader, her lectures and attention to detail would give you all of the tools necessary to do well in her class.

Comment:
Professor Kim asks every week for students to write anonymous feedback on the class. She wants to know what is going well for students and which areas she may need to cover the next week in more detail. She is a very good professor who truly cares about her students and their classroom experience.

I enjoyed her class. I read through some of the other reviews and I agree with what some people stated. Yes a lot of the major point are group work but the final and the midterm are very important. I enjoyed her toughness and directness, I have to be honest I wish some of my other teacher were the same way. I received a good grade in the class.

Comment:
Dr. Kim accepts anonymous feedback from students at the end of every class. She does give some homework, but it's not difficult. The majority of the grade comes from a group project, which is split into mini projects through the semester. She checks if students understand, almost to a fault. I hear "Am I making sense?" so many times every class...

Comment:
Dr. Kim really understands the subject she teaches. However, sometimes relaying that info was lost in translation. Her accent is not thick. Good mix of individual and group assignments. The way she graded papers was extremely frustrating. Too much work. Probably spent 20+ hours/wk outside of class working on papers. Available for consultation.

Comment:
Dr.Kim made this class unnecessarily difficult. She got extremely frustrated when students did not understand, she graded very hard, she provided very little group time for our semester group project and she was completely inflexible. This is the worst experience I've had in grad school. Avoid her class if you can!!

Utterly worthless. 15 weeks: 5 weeks doing nothing but useless group chat about our unfinished projects, then 5 weeks “learning†SPSS (redundant from the program’s mandatory stats class), then last 5 weeks she cancelled half the time, and had guest lectures that trashed the articles she assigned us to read as examples of how never to do research.

Follow her rules precisely-no more no less. Never be creative or show independent thought. When she asks your opinion, give her what she wants, not what you think. When she's wrong, ignore it. Say only positive things about her on her "anonymous" self-reviews. She's an Evangelical Christian, and if you aren't, pretend. Stay in the closet.

Comment:
I had Dr. Kim her first semester at IUPUI. She was too flexible and let the class push her into extending deadlines and so on. Sounds like she learned her lesson and her boundaries are too rigid now.

This instructor is very difficult. She tends to take things personally in the class; does not take criticism well and is extremely inflexible in her teaching methods. Avoid her at all costs or risk having migraines by the end of the semester!
