Isabel was a hard case. She has her favorites but will push those she see's potential in. She is sorta always aloof to which patients you have and what you should be doing. She will hunt you down and distract you from your nursing process. I spent most of the semester avoiding her and unable to please her. She is difficult to please.

Know your pharmacology, nursing diagnosis and come prepared with your critical thingking cap on. Ask questions even if she appears to be intimidating. She will push you to learn. Overall you'll be thankful when you go to Nursing 2L.

Mrs. Romena has a strong character. She is used to teaching Nursing 4. She is on you about your nursing process. Be prepared to be hands on your first day of clinical. She can be a little intimidating but she means good. I learned so much from her. I was so fortunate to have her for ADN 001L.

She was a total scatter brain. I would ask her cardiology questions and she would answer me with a question. She needs to get rid of her overhead projector, because it is the the main source of her being unorganized. It's called POWERPOINT! Nice lady though. I aced because I read.

Comment:

N4 is fast paced. Ms. Romena uses the textbook extensively. You must read the text to succeed in her class. I found her to be fair and wealth of knowledge. She was also my clinical instructor. She knows her profession, expects a lot from her students, and makes her students think, which ultimately will make us better nurses.

Even if you read the textbook, Romena's exams are based on her experience as an ICU nurse. You would find answers on the test that matched what was in the textbook but she would say it was wrong because it was not the answer she was looking for. Nursing instructors forget that we are STUDENTS, we'll develop the more we're exposed to patients

READ,READ & READ sum more if u r takin this class. it is hard & its 5.5 units in 9 weeks wich go by FAST. tests r hard but if u read then they r not. she really helps & i did learn a lot. she listens to u if u hav questions after givin an exam.doesnt let u tape lectures but u dont need to coz u R on ur own in this class! STUDY HARD & GOOD LUCK! =)

Definately have to read the book. The lectures help clarify the book but test are out of the book. Great clinical instructor, pushes you but teaches a lot. I'm glad I took her, I feel like I learned a lot.

This class was hard when it didn't have to be. Her lectures are a total waste of time. Her powerpoints are pointless. Her tests have nothing to do with her lectures. When you ask her a question she tells you to look in your book. Not the best nursing instructor.

From reading the older posts about her, I think her teaching skills have evolved. Her class is VERY hard because it is a hard subject and she wants to make sure you know ALOT of things because you WILL need the knowledge. She is a VERY knowledgeable and nice lady. As stated she is not a baby-sitter and assumes you know certain things you should.

Had her for lecture. Lecture was a waste of time IMHO. Lecture was utterly useless because she reads from the book. I would rather have this as an online course so I can sleep in and read the book. Remember this line if you are entering Nursing 04: "IT'S IN THE BOOK." Because that's what you will hear from her if you have questions. GOOD LUCK.

Excellent instructor! She is hard but she will push you to succeed. She is not for the "dependant"/emotionally needy types of students. She is straightforward in her expectations and uses the text extensively. You will learn a wealth of knowledge from her in the clinical setting if you dare to be challenged. Glad I had her for lec. & Clinical.

The class itself is very difficult, essay questions come from her lectures. Before starting this class i had heard horrible things about her, but she is great, has a great sense of humor and knows her stuff! Just READ, READ, and READ some more!
