Comment:
I regret taking this class. The exams were really just memorizing some things & a lot of information about historical figures in psychology (although she does not address their problematic aspects). She makes mistakes with her grading/contradicts herself but refuses to admit to it or change your grade. And the lab sessions could be half that length

Comment:
Gibson teaches a decent, basic psyc class. If you want to learn facts this class is fine. If you want to feel intellectually stimulated and gain a more complex understanding of humanity, go somewhere else. This course is not challenging, it coddles you. Half of class is group discussion with peers about readings, the other half is lecture.

While Professor Gibson taught psych well, after signing up for "The Psych of Humor," I found that this class lacked humor. Professor Gibson, however, is accessible during her office hours. She often makes demeaning comments about academic fields outside of psych, however. So many more papers than other tutorials! Just beware, first years!

Very interesting topic which we explored via her textbook and additional readings. Helped improve my writing and public speaking. Accessible outside of class and always offers to help with whatever you need. Pretty good advisor.

Not much of an expert in her field. Cannot answer questions outside of class material. That said, can explain covered concepts with some clarity and grades quite fairly. Lectures can run long and get slightly off-topic, but give you what you need. Nothing to scare anyone off.

A cute lady. However, very harsh on criticizing. Might make you feel she is not friendly. I like her a lot because she gave me A-, although I did not study very hard.

I took her course last fall and finally expect to graduate this year. She cannot do well in the psy concepts. She is a little bit mean and not so helpful. She might be very angry about your too active participation or others. One of the worst psy professors. Trust me. She is not so bad in grade, but you need to find a nice human being to follow.

Gibson's lecture is okay, but her expertise suck. She is not the kind of person who can answer your questions out of course material. She does NOT know ANYTHING about DATA or PROGRAMS, like spss, excel... she took 1.5 hours to explore an ANOVA and failed to explain it during the class. she doesn't like any critique from people

Her lecture is not very informative. Also wasted too much time in the lab with small simple issues, like problems with excel.

My favorite class my first year. She was always very clear and I loved it. Sometimes she would ramble on and that bored me, but for the most part I loved this class. I want to take another class with her for sure.

Comment:
This class was be quite dull. I also didn't really like the atmosphere of the class, which i think stemmed from the fact that the Professor was quite brash with her comments. In fact, I felt she was rude and insensitive. It was quite funny at times but other times just like what ? Other people didn't seem to notice but I sure did.

Lectures were fairly boring as they were mainly based on slides. Willing to help during office hours though she tends to go off on a tangent. Study guides very useful.

Had her for three classes and a MAP, so I know her very well. Clear lecturer who is always willing to help outside of class. Reasonable, challenging tests/papers. ALWAYS willing to go out of her way for her students, whether it be to create extra projects, MAPs, or give more PSELL credits. A genuinely caring person who I'll miss when I graduate.

Lectures were a bit boring, she likes to talk. A lot. She's an easy grader and the tests were fair and straightforward. But she is not the nicest person. I enjoyed the class overall.

She loves talking and she will do a lot of it. Lab time can be rough because of that, but I always found the lectures interesting and engaging. She's always willing to give help, though it may be more help (talking-wise) than you bargained for. She's a tough grader, and some of her grading policies are iffy, but overall she's a fair and good prof.

She likes to talk. A lot. It's sometimes hard to get an answer to your questions, although she'll tell you several unrelated interesting things in the process. She's a hard grader, but As are possible. Lectures can sometimes get boring, but they're manageable. Lab time is mostly used for the final project, and is a good time to get feedback.

She offers extra office hours before tests and makes tons of helpful review sheets. She works hard to make you do well, even though she really shouldn't be teaching stats. She can actually be overly helpful, ranting about something for 30 minutes when you just wanted a yes or no.

Good class. She gets a bad rep, but I think Intro was fun. She tries to cover a lot and its hard to get too in depth into any one subject in Intro. Labs were pretty interesting. Decent amount of writing assignments and lab reports which sucked, but she is training you for upper levels.
