Very nice & patient professor! Our class was cancelled like 6 times this spring, & the work was scaled back from the syllabus. We covered short stories and a little poetry. He provides helpful feedback with papers. Plenty of class discussions and some group work in class (save worksheets!) Show up, participate, and do the work; easy A.

Since the first day of class he was very polite and always gives us work sheets to help us answer questions from the book. I found the books not really necessary. But rather then that he is an amazing professor and I would take his class again because it is fun.

What can i say besides TAKE HIM! you will love his class and his teaching style! Sure he makes you write A LOT! but if you put your all into it , you will undoubtedly receive an A. Wished i could have taken him for my other English classes...

If you appreciate a well organized, clear, concise, concerned, and capable teacher--Prof. Curtis is your man. Excellent teacher, just a really nice person! We got a lot done, read Cornel West's autobiography and an Alice Walker book. He made a once a week 2 1/2hr class thoroughly enjoyable.

He is the greatest professor i have ever had. He is easy going and helpful. He does not make you stressful. If you cannot turn the paper on time, just let him know and he will take it later.He will not lower your grade at all.I learned a lot in his class.I would take his class again for sure.
