Shes a really nice woman... not great prof. She tries her best, but her intelligence is beyond a beginners BIO class. She is a SUPER tough grader.

Comment:

While Dr. Nolan is very nice and energetic, the course is awful! Unclear instructions, subjective/opinion-based grading, lectures that are long and bland, etc. Labs are okay. She will take off ludicrous amounts of points for really dumb things. I will not recommend this course to anyone for their gen eds, especially during mini-mester. It sucks!!!

Dr. Nolan is so excited about every topic she teaches and she makes you excited to learn! Her exams are difficult but all of the information comes exactly from the notes that she prints for you and a couple sections of the text book. I definitely recommend Dr. Nolan!

Dr. Nolan is so passionate about the material and her enthusiasm is very contagious. She is very helpful and she gives good notes and example problems for tests. You HAVE to study to do well on tests but if you aren't a good test taker you can still pass the class because of other assignments. I would definitely take her again for another class.

Awesome professor! I had Dr Nolan during a mini-mester at the college at 8:30am and I can't think of anyone else who would have kept my attention so early! She's tough but so enthusiastic about her field.

Nolan is one of the worst professors I've ever had. They recently changed the curriculum and made it 10 times harder. You will ask her for help and then you write what she says and then she takes a lot of points off. Very misleading and hard test. Would def NOT take again!! Way too much work and grades way too hard for nonmajors

LOVE LOVE her. She is one of the best teachers I've ever had in my life. Super cute and so excited when she teaches. Shes a strong believer in only teaching what is necessary... absolute no BS. When studying for tests DO THE READINGS, her essays are 15-20 pts on tests and come from the practice essays she gives you. Very brilliant happy lady!

Dr. Nolan is the best professor in the entire universe.If you don't take her you are missing out. Very fun,intelligentnt,and understanding. Will bend over backwards for students who need help. Test are difficult, but straight from the notes. Will meet with students whenever.No lab, catch sea turtles on an island in Virginia, who could complain?

This class ok but she grades way to hard for a non-majors class, she massacred some of my reports eventhough she guided me through the writing process. On the lab trip is gets a little psycho erratic, but otherwise she is ok, would def NOT take again!!

VERY enthusiastic professor and excellent teacher, always willing to help. In class debates were fun. That being said, this was a hard class. 3 hard tests (applications/essays) and 3 projects (2 have reports with them that are graded pretty rough). So be prepared to spend a lot of time. Trip to bay was great. Overall I'm glad I took this class.

She is Great!Her love for the subject matter and teaching is evident. You have to go on a weekend trip to Wallops Island, fun but a lot of work. She will go the extra mile to help you if you ask for help. You do really need to study for her test but her test are strickly based on her notes (she gives you)and on the readings. Take this class!!!!!!!!

Loved this professor. She loves what she does and makes class interesting. Her enthusiasm for the topic is contagious. Liked her so much for Oceanography, took for Marine Bio. No lab, weekend field trip, lots of fun. Will help if you need it, tests are thorough, but from her notes.
