I took her online communications class and it was very stress free, I loved it! She gives two weeks to complete each discussion. I had to do two papers and one final research project at the end of the semester. I would definitely recommend taking her class if you have a lot of work to get done for other classes.

Comment:

Easy class online. Log in once every two and respond to discussion. A few homework assignments. No test. You don't even need the book. She posts information in the content section that relate to the discussion.

Only 4 grades so you need to get it right at the start: Midterm; Final; Indiv and Group Speech. Bought the book before I realized she doesn't care if you have it - her test questions (all essays) come from her lectures, which is great if you take good notes. Not very helpful and will leave the class during group speech prep.

Prof. Gaete is a great professor. I took COM101 with her and hand a pretty good experience. The only thing that bothered me was how tough her grading was you're graded on two presentations, the midterm and the final and she graded them very strictly. also don't be late on presentation days because she will call your name and you'll receive a zero.

No attendance but if you're chosen to give a speech and you're not there, you get an automatic 0. Don't need the textbook, she'll say that you do need it but you don't. Just copy her notes on the board give good speeches. She is a little unclear at times, distant from students, and obviously working only for a paycheck but it's an easy A.

I took her COM102 Online class. It was very stress free compared to the work load i had with my other classes. She gave 2 weeks for each disscussion and there was a few essays during the semester as well as a final research paper. Take her class.

she does not ask for the textbook since it is online, homework is to read the text book at home but if you don't read it she gives great notes the test are not to bad as long as you study your notes you will be fine. The group project was not that bad either

Very clear in her lectures, interesting to listen to. Didnt buy the textbook just took notes and received a A. 2 speeches fairly easy if you follow her rubric. Overall an easy A. Would definitely take her again.

HORRIBLE! Does not email back, syllabi is a paragraph so you have no idea what is going on, she deletes the discussions and content right after the assignment has passed so you have no reference, and make sure you do not go over 250 for her papers; which she does not clearly state until she gives you your grade and tells you, You seem confused.

She's not a bad professor, but as previously mentioned, her grading criteria is unclear. I followed the directions to an assignment to perfection, only for her to give me a C. I had to email her and she explained more of what she wants - stuff he had never specified in the directions. However, once you understand how she grades, it's an easy A.

Took her for COM102 online, I agree with the previous post that her grading criteria was unclear. I emailed her when I was getting low grades on discussions to ask what I was doing wrong and she mentioned all these things that were not stated in the grading criteria. When I thought I fixed what I was doing wrong her grading was still inconsistent.

Took com 102 online and it was an okay class. I didn't learn much and she is an unclear grader. Graded all of the discussion boards by how well you respond to others using examples in the textbook. She was okay

Overall good professor. Makes sure everyone in class understands the material, prefers reading the chapters ahead of class so during lecture you can participate but never tests you on anything not discussed in class. Cares about you doing well in the class as she always comes in with a smile and ready to teach.

Professor Gaete was always very awake and went right into lecture. She assigns reading that I read a couple of chapters and still pulled out an A in the class. If you pay attention, do a brief studying before tests, and put effort into your group projects you'll do fine. She was very nice, I have 0 complaints. Would take again for sure!

It was an okay class. She kept giving me low grades on all my assignments. Im practically a straight A student, so when I asked her why my grades were so low, she said it was because I was handing them in the day before it was due. I should be graded on how well I do- not by the date I hand it in. I was very annoyed by this. But overall it was easy

Ok online course. 2 opinion based papers and 1 final paper. No tests. Weekly discussions. She gives you all the info you need, so you don't really need the book. She is one of the most helpful professors though. Even though we communicated through email, she always answered my questions promptly and politely and never had a problem helping me.
