If you need honors credit, this class is the way to go. Spanish is definitely a useful, beautiful language and Dr. Moore made sure we practiced the language everyday with classmates . While this class is a fairly easy A, it comes with a lot of homework if you combine the lab and lecture out-of-class assignments so be warned!

I have really enjoyed this class till about half way through. Moore is an amazing professor, but the class got boring after a while. Every day you discuss the homework that you did, so do it! The presentations and papers are easy so do not stress.

He is a great guy but this class is basically a history class but in Spanish, the amount of homework is like a capstone class when its only a 300-level class. Read too much and write to much, he wants you to present every week about something you have to find online because in the book you won't find it. Won't take it again.

He actually cares! It may seem like a lot of work but if you really care about the Spanish language... he is a must take! He cares about you and acknowledges your effort.

Comment:

Ridiculous amounts of homework. Material is redundant and most of it is common sense. The amount homework and amount of cultural events you must attend is absolutely insane, but the homework is just busywork and is pointless. Seems like he cares about other opinions, but I think he really just likes to hear himself talk.

Loved him as a professor but hated the homework that came with the class. Very nice guy. He just gives pointless homework. The quizzes are pretty difficult so make sure you do the readings. The chapters are super long and you only get an hour on the quiz and it can be open book. Still difficult though.

Dr. Moore's class was very easy. His tests are clear and not tricky. He is very understanding of sickness or other excused absences. Unexcused absences will affect your grade though.

So much busy work it will make your head spin...I liked Professor Moore but many times questioned the reasoning behind many of the assignments he gave. Made some good friendships in the class, but didn't feel like I learned too much

I loved Dr. Moore. He is an awesome professor! He makes the class fun and easy. Attendance is mandatory, but he makes it easier for you to learn the language. He will help you and is very lenient. His class is structured, but he makes Spanish fun. Plus his looks make this class easier to go to!

Easy class, not very interesting, but attendance is mandatory.it was the same thing every day, there was usually homework but he let us work in groups. 2 oral tests and 3 easy papers. There is a lot of discussion but its true that he really loves getting people to talk and he won't make you feel bad if its not your strong suit. easy but a bit dull

John Moore is an excellent teacher. It is true that there is usually a lot of readings in his class but he fortunately he is laid back. He loves conversation and doesn't make you feel bad if you don't have very good spanish skills. It also doesn't hurt that he is very easy on the eyes- very hot!

John is one of the best in the department! He is handome, friendly, funny and smart. The environment in his class is relaxed(a added bonus for the shy who don't work well under pressure), and he encourages speech. I recommend him for any spanish minor or major. WARNING: THERE IS A GOOD DEAL OF READING..BUT THE GOOd OUTWEIGH THE BAD.

John Moore knows his stuff. There is a bit of reading in his class, but there are no surprises on his test. He strictly enforces attendance. He is also very understanding. He is always available to help you outside of class. Overall, he is great. I'm taking him again next semester! Handsome!
