I have her for an online class. The lectures are insanely long and never clear about what she is going to put on the test. Will put stuff from 4 chapters ago on your tests. It's interesting nonetheless, but be prepared to work.

She is a real stickler for grammar, so if you if make mistakes she won't be that forgiving. The whole class was composed of three worksheets and three exams with NO final exam.

Comment:

Joyce Kubiski is a very intelligent woman but incredibility terrible teacher. If you missed class, it marked against your gradeyet if SHE missed class, you're expected to know the material. Very little to no homework so in-class participation and guidance from a professor is a necessity! Extremely hard to schedule with. Worse teacher ever.

Really hard to pass this class if you miss class. The way her eLearning is set up is whack. Dates a wrong, instructions are unclear, etc. Sometimes assignments are due before the criteria is even discussed in class. This class ruined my 4.0 GPA. She expects everybody in her class to be an art major when in face most aren't. DONT TAKE FOR A PRE-REQ!

Has her e learning set up terribly, often confusing on what is due when. Quizzes labeled as assignments, etc. emailed her complaining about it to no avail. Exams are around 100 questions each (no joke) for a gen ed class, pretty ridiculous imo. Unless you're actually interested in it and study very frequently, you won't do will. I don't advise it.

Exam policy is pretty whack. Won't let people leave until everyone is done. Claims people leaving is 'distracting'. Doesn't realize its way more distracting when everyone is staring at you because you're the only one not done. Otherwise good teacher, good class. All hw is online. 7 quizzes, 7 assignments.

Interesting class and lecture. Assignments are confusing. Everything aside from exams on elearning, many quizzes labeled as 'assignments' and many dropbox assignments labeled as 'quizzes'. very confusing and hard to know when things are due, where to find them on elearning, and how to complete them and turn them in. Interesting but very frustrating

The broad course topic "Renaissance Art" was limited to Renaissance Theory, which was then limited to Renaissance Feminist Theory. At one point made comments offensive towards Gwen Frostic and handicapped artists... Please note that she can't even make art herself.

Joyce doesn't take attendance but I have found that if i skip class often, I do worse on the quizzes. It could be just me, but attendance is necessary to pass. There are also quizzes every two or so weeks over the modules we talked about during class. The quizzes are on learning and you can read the powerpoints during the quiz.

Great prof One of my favorites in my three years here, by far Very easy to sit and listen to for 75 minutes. If you go to class and listen, you will have no problem passing all the assignments and tests. I'm nowhere near an art major but I found this class to be very interesting Highly recommended for an art credit

puts little to no effort into teaching the class. clearly is more interested in herself than generating a lesson plan or arriving prepared for the day. she makes assignments and then removes them once she realizes they won't work which is confusing and disorienting. she has little new information to share in class.

Dr. Kubiski seems like a nice person, but is a terrible professor. She comes into lecture unprepared everyday. Every time she would start a presentation she would apologize and tell the class it is an old presentation and she brought the wrong one (every time)!!! Avoid if possible!

I took her online and she is unorganized, late at posting lectures, assignments and quizzes. She did not answer any emails, and it seems she doesn't really care if her students succeed. I would avoid her at all cost, at least online. If you take her class on campus, maybe she'll be more helpful because she wouldn't be able to hid from her students

So unorganized, questioned whether or not she was truly a PhD. She acts like it is the first time she has taught. The tests are unorganized just as her lectures, I would recommend you try to find another Prof. unless you really have to take her class. Flash Cards help, if you take her!

Great prof! One of my favorites by far. The class was great and I really enjoyed it. Super easy if you go to class and pay attention. She tells you everything that will be on the exam and there are only two other assignments. No attendance, but going helps a lot.

Back in the day in Seattle we used to call her the Kub (pronounced Koob)! She thought she was all that but we liked her just fine anyway. We were very good to her before she dumped our sad selves. I think we gave her a C-.
