Dr. Sola is amazing. He genuinely cares about his students and is always making sure they get the help they need. There are no tests, and three 15 minute presentations, 2 essays, and 1 interview.

I loved Dr. Sola! He was one of my favorite professors this semester. The class itself, Cultural Contact Zones, was pretty work-heavy, though. You do tons of presentations, but no tests! Most of this class was self-research, he didn't give any long lectures. The class discussions and interviews were really interesting!

Took Cultural Contact Zones: The Americas with this prof. DO NOT TAKE!! 5 one-minute "bite" presentations, 2 major "country" presentations, 2 group presentations, one 7-page research paper, one 4-page comparative paper, and weekly news chat article discussions. Grading is very vague. Office hours at the crack of dawn. Take another!!! Save yourself.

Dr. Sola is such a nice guy. No tests-3 big presentations and a paper comprise 60% of grade. Go into office hours to get feedback! Discussion and 8 mini presentations make up other 40%. Does not have clear grading criteria--seems to be whatever he is feeling towards you at the time. The class hits you in chunks, but overall not a difficult course.

Professor Sola is awesome. He is so nice and is always willing to meet with you to check over things and make sure you get an A. The class has no tests, but is mainly comprised of three projects over countries. With a little bit of effort you will be set to get an A. The class is discussion based, but you don't need to talk every class to get an A.

I really like Dr. Sola, and he clearly knows a lot about Europe. When he did lecture, it was great because he's really interesting, but unfortunately this class was mostly presentations, which were super boring and you didn't need to pay attention to. No tests, only a term paper and a few other shorter papers. Overall he's good.

Great teacher! Attendance is a must, test info comes from his power points, copy them & you will do well. Test are pretty easy & the final is cumulative with open notes! He is really funny & loves it when students interact with him. He is very helpful and approchable, all you have to do is ask & he will go above and beyond to try to help you.

He is hilarious! Loved him as a teacher, but I ended up doing a Pass/ NC, getting the Pass (ended up making a B) just b/c he is a difficult grader on his tests BUT go to class and soak up his humor! Recommend him but NOT if you're looking for an easy A.

Soo much to study, his Teacher aid doesn't make it any easier when grading papers on exam. Maybe an easy C but if you want a B you have to attend and study constantly. It is a written exam. Must include almost every point if you want an A. Notes are about 20 pages each exam only 3 total, and a midterm paper. I would look elsewhere

European history 1789-present. Great professor, teaches well, a little hard to understand at first but you get used to it. I hate history andhemade it interesting. However he is VERY strict when grading... It's an amazingly easy B but if you want the A you might want to look elsewhere. It's almost impossible.

Dr. Juan Carlos Sola Corbacho is an expert in his field, I thouroughly enjoy going to class even though it's at 8am. His lectures go by really quickly and he gives you opportunities to make up your grade through extra credit and make up exams at semester's end. Good double dip, I'd recommend him.

Good professor. His lectures are fun to listen to, particularly when given in his Spanish accent. Class attendance isn't mandatory, but is highly advisable if one desires a passing grade on the exams.

Dr. Sola is a great professor with a good sense of humor. His accent can take awhile to get use to. His test are all essay, but they aren't that bad if you study. He doesn't take attendance, but you need to go to class or you'll miss a lot. Take him if you can!

Dr. So is a fun professor who manages to keep fairly dry material pretty interesting and fun. He has a thick Spanish accent, but it's not too hard to understand. He is surprisingly funny as well (don't get him started on bagels and zucchini)! His tests are all essay and rather challenging, but he is a fair grader.

Really great teacher. Does not take attendance. However, you need notes from classes for exams, literally all of the notes. Exams are essay but it's all in the notes, just study them. With some effort, an A is not hard to get.

I really enjoyed his class. although he is a little hard to understand you can easily do well in the class. the secret is going to talk to him. He will help you if you ask. 3 essay exams 2 papers and a presentation not bad for a history class.
