Don't take this class. It will be the longest 75 minutes of your life. She uses no technology at all, only the white board, so it is near impossible to contact her. She rambles and is always late to class. She uses a lot of profanity and makes rude comments. She does not explain the material well and grades harshly. Choose any other course.

As a liberal democrat, I like her a lot. She is very opinionated but in a funny way. You are confused the entire semester about assignments, your grade, and about the everyday tangents she goes on. Despite all of this, I feel like she does have a lot to offer in terms of philosophy. Ask a lot of questions, DO THE READINGS, and participate in class.

Dr. Dulkeit is a character. She will only like you or pay attention to your opinions if you are outgoing in her class. You never have any idea of your grade through out the semester. She is really opinionated and the fact that it is 3 hours long... I would not recommend this class.

Avoid this class. She is a terrible teacher. Way too opinionated in class and rarely stays on topic. The first time you meet her you will think she is quirky and fun, but soon after you will hate her class. Never explains grades, you have homework (almost every night) even though she doesn't tell you, and the material is boring.

Wouldn't put her as a first choice for a TI class. If you're a hardcore democrat you'll probably enjoy her. Class was mainly about politics when it was supposed to be philosophy. Not much work, but she grades really hard and she gives zero indication of your grade in the class all semester.

Professor Dulckeit was just awful. She showed up late to class every day, she provided little feedback and gave poor grades without explanation. I met with her twice, and both times she was accusatory even though I had studied. I am used to getting A's... she gave me a B which is simply wrong considering the amount of work that I put into her class

I absolutely love her! She's very liberal and speaks her mind. Be prepared to do a lot of reading and discussion. We mostly do discussion in class.

I had her for a T&I class. She is a terrible teacher, unreliable, rude and irresponsible. She missed a total of 3 weeks this semester due to illness, which isn't necessarily her fault, but she did nothing to make sure we were still understanding the material when she was absent. She only returned one grade the entire semester. Don't take her.

She will let you know her opinion and she's very liberal, so be prepared for that. Class was very relaxed and she makes sure everyone understands what she's teaching. Keep an open mind and you will love her, otherwise she will likely be your least favorite teacher.

I've had her three times and absolutely love her and although she is unabashedly liberal if you are not and can argue your opinion she respects and values you. You can't bs but you learn a lot! Wonderful teacher, funny, crazy, quirky, foul-mouthed...absolutely great!

Comment:

Katharina Dulckeit is a poor excuse for a professor. She takes every opportunity to make biased political commentary---"Sarah Palin is an idiot" or "Republicans are evil and she needs to stop evil things"....the list goes on. I had to drop this class. Beware if you aren't a liberal, you will probably hate her classes.

Interesting subject...kind of hard to pull an A though, must know what you are talking about. She sees right through BS. There aren't many grades so you can't blow anything off. Definitely stimulates the brain though.

Dulkeit uses the classroom as a platform to preach her liberal agenda. I don't mind liberal professors so long as they remain unbiased in the classroom. She certainly does not. For example, she offered to cancel class if students would attend an anti war protest with her.
