Comment:

Seems like a really nice person, however... She reads straight from the book but yet still talks in circles with constant stammering. Lectures are pointless. Do yourself a favor and take the online class, its the same thing but without the mandatory waste of time. She needs a critique on how to teach more effectively. Tests due Sun, & no Final.

Comment:

I took this class online. It's pretty straight forward. Make sure you read the syllabus prior to starting any coursework. The calendar and due dates are set prior to starting the class. She answers questions. If she does not see your question prior to the due date, she'll extend the due date. Basically, if you do the work you'll pass.

There was no final! Just a mid term paper. Weekly test based on the chapter that week. No assignments at all, just tests. Class was pretty boring, but it was taken online.

I found all of her expectations of what we were supposed to put into the class, when homework would be due, grading rubrics to be succinct and pretty awesome. Put effort into reading and understanding the material and you'll pass. Was quick to correct grades and respond to e-mails. Overall pretty awesome. I wish she had a psyc200 class.

During lecture time she shows a lot of videos or reads bits from the textbook, but she talks in circles more often than not an dis difficult to follow. Tests due every Sunday on Canvas, and extra credit opportunities every week. Her class is an easy pass, but kind of a bore because she doesn't seem interested when she's talking.

Comment:

Ms. Barr was a great online teacher. She always got back to my emails in a timely matter, and would sometimes just email the class to tell us we were doing well. Tests were weekly, and all the info on the tests are in the book. So as long as you keep up on studying, they class should be a breeze.

Take her online class! Save yourself from having to sit through her lectures everyday! She is so disorganized and reads straight from the book! All discussions, papers and tests are online and taken straight from the book anyway.

Im not one to talk about someone else but I do not want others going through what I went through. She doesn't have her on way of explaining the material she simply reads it out of the book as it says it. So if you don't understand what the book says you probably wont learn anything. Her evaluations test for every chapter ask trick like questions

I took Psychology 101 online with Professor Barr and I absolutely learned an enormous amount of information and really liked the class. The instructor is helpful and encouraging. Professor Barr gives a lot of feedback and constantly communicates with students, which I found helpful. This was a fabulous course and I recommend everyone take it.

I took this class on campus with her for Abnormal Psych. Overall the class was not as I expected but she is very nice. When i took her class she had a severe illness so that explains her stutter and mix ups. If you ask her for extra credit she gladly helps.

a stuttering mess. she cant keep on topic cause she stutters 3/4 of the time and she likes to single out certain students for reprimand daily. her tests r impossible to umderstand and she refuses to hear ur side of the story for any reason i do not recomend her to any fellow student

I took this class online and loved it. I am not sure why there are so many bad comments. She gave good feedback and answered her emails promptly. I read the chapters, did my work and got an A+. If you are not a slacker, take her.

This teacher is one of the worst. She consistently skips class and usually plays movies once a week rather than teach. She takes weeks to grade papers and even then, she arbitrarily grades them based on how much she likes you. Ask her why you got a certain grade on an essay and she cannot explain it. When she gets home, I doubt she works at all.

Awful! I couldn't stand her "teaching style" which was just sitting in front of the class, reading the text book, and stuttering. If an interesting class discussion broke out, she would literally tell us to shut up and continue reading. I didn't learn anything because she is a terrible teacher. Do NOT take her!
