Comment:

You spend a lot of class time reviewing same concepts over and over again, and doing several in-class group case studies. Very often he introduces new concepts by skimming through the recommended texts. He also gives tons of homework which are long case analysis. If he sees what he wants in your work, you can get a good grade. Finals were tough.

All we did during classes are going over the cases from the textbook. We spent three days on one case and was very boring and repeated the same stuffs over and over again. No midterm, but the final was very unfair. Be prepared that you are gonna fail on the final due to the time or the questions.

This class is all case work, so be prepared to do a lot of work. But its not too much work..He really doesn't teach you much, but gives you direction on where to take the case. Just pay close attention to what he says on the case prep days.

He takes attendance, but I don't think it counts. Answer questions in class, and learn quickly how he likes his papers to be written. This class is nothing more than all the mktg classes Duq offers into one, in which you write papers on long case studies that add nothing constructive. It's a frustrating/time consuming hoop to jump through.

Don't be fooled by this man. You will meet him in class and think he will be easy and that you will be well prepared for the exam...well you will be wrong...you will fail the exam...you will fail the final...and he won't care..the tests are impossible and not easy at all unless you memorize the book

DO NOT TAKE HIM. He is extremely arrogant and going to his class is pointless. You learn nothing in class, his exams are from the textbooks. He will tell you something will not be on the exam and then put it as an essay question. WORST PROFESSOR I'VE HAD.

Saban thinks he knows what he's talking about. I'm sure he does. But he comes in and spends 30 of 50 minutes talking about the global market and lets you out early. Then the test is on detailed definitions you never even talked about. His reviews consist of him asking what the students think is important. 4 mc questions per chapter on a test? JOKE

His nickname is Satan for a reason. Class is very easy until you get to the end. The class turned in our final papers and final exams and never got either back and he definitely screwed us on them both grade wise. Loves to say "Again" repeatedly (we counted how many times he used it in each class - over 30), and uses bottled water for an example.

I had Dr. Saban for both Mktg and Sports Mgmt and I LOVED him. He really cares about his students even though he's a little demanding. But that's ok, because he's a smart guy and know what he's talking about. If are willing to work hard, you will have no problem getting an A, and you actually will use what you learn in his class. Def a great guy!
