The best 241 teacher you are going to get! Such a nice guy and makes a challenging class very doable. He has his students best interest in mind and always tries to help his students get their grades up. Take this guy for 241, you will not regret it.

I absolutely loved this professor. He is so sweet and really makes sure that students understand the topics. He gives a ton of outside resources to help students do well, and he curves after the final exam. I highly recommend!

Best 241 professor!! Dropped half of our quiz grades to give us the highest possible percentage. Really cares about his students succeeding. Not super helpful in office hours unless you have very specific questions but makes tons of good canvas videos for studying

He's definitely the best professor for COB 241. The weekly quizzes are all from the homework and multiple choice problems he gives you. He posts videos going over the powerpoints on canvas so you don't have to read the textbook. He's super nice and really tries to help you do well on the exams.

Has to be the best 241 professor in the department. Really cares about the students, and is really funny and understanding. 3 exams and a final, and he does everything he can to prepare you to do well on them. Also does homework quizzes which are really easy and boost your grade by alot. If you can TAKE BETANCOURT, and you'll do great.

took a different professor and failed COB 241 miserably. took Betacourt's class over the summer and it was a breeze. Barely studied. never opened the textbook. Class is very straight forward. He actually wants students to suceed. if u love yourself, TAKE HIM. NO EXCEPTIONS. and please please please AVOID Gabbin AT ALL COSTS

Its unbelievable they let this guy teach. He can't explain anything, he makes no sense, but at least he gives you the answers to all the test questions just before the test. If you're trying to learn something from the class, take someone else. If you just want to get the class on your transcript without learning anything, he's the man.

Compared to all the other 241 teachers, he blows the field away. Weekly quizzes will boost your grade, no attendance policy, but go b/c he relates the material well. he puts effort into the class and if you study tests aren't bad, the only thing that hurts your grade is the final, but he compensates. A must take for 241.

Betancourt gives weekly quizzes but explains how to work the quiz problem first. Practically tells you what specific problems to know for the exams. Very clear and thorough on explaining fairly tough material. Overall, excellent professor.

Best teacher I have ever had @ JMU. Gives weekly quizzes but the quiz is discussed right before taking it. He explains concepts extremely well and really does make accounting easy to understand. YOU MUST TAKE HIM if you can.
