She is a good professor but I was bored most of the time as she was talking throughout most classes and would just go on and on. My main issue with this class is the big essay. Each time I turned my in and implemented the feedback she gave, somehow I did worse. She either just didn't like how I wrote or just refused to acknowledge the improvements.

Dr. Harran gives a lot of feedback on every piece of work you turn in but does so to help students succeed not to discourage them. She truly gives the time to her students because she cares, unlike others. There is ONE paper in the class then the normal readings, midterm, final, and some great guest speakers. Worth taking if you're not a slacker.

She is very kind and caring. She appreciates people who are genuinely interested in the subject. But she is a very harsh grader and doesn't give great feedback. She just kind of criticizes the essay as a whole. And there is a whole lot of essay. She acts as if the class is your only class.

She nit-picks way too much. Is as if she thinks we aren't trying. She's extremely picky about grading, marking you down for things like "inappropriate comma" or a misspelling. She doesn't know what it's like to be a student and she can be rather rude. She has completely ruined my interest in the course. I wish I could drop it.

She is a fantastic and very knowledgeable professor, but overworks students to the point that they're not even particularly interested anymore. It's ruined the class for several student this semester. There are huge amounts of reasoning which she gloats are "reasonable." I think she is a professor who has forgotten what it is like to be a student.

Dr. Harran is one of the most caring, wonderful professors a student can have. She goes above and beyond to inform students, while holding high expectations for the class. I would recommend anyone to take a class from her. It will change your life.

Harran paid for lots of Holocaust-related events, such as dinners, excursions to the 1939 Club, so she cared about us, but we learned NOTHING! Every single class period students talked about how bubbly their Holocaust survivor was, or how bad the Nazis were and it was always the same thing, and Harran encouraged it and repeated and rambled.

Easily a great teacher to have. Her class is challenging - no doubt - but if you keep up with the readings, attend class, and make a sincere effort on your papers and in discussion, she'll notice and appreciate that (and you'll do well). I would recommend this class to absolutely EVERYONE I know!

So professor Harran is a really nice teacher however, her class is a little ridiculous. Sometimes I felt she didn't think we were taking any other class but hers. It was A LOT of work lets just say that. Plan on attending every class and reading every night. This class is pretty crazy but very interesting at the same time.

This class was ridiculous. There was so much reading and so much work to do. All of my other classes require much less work than this class did. Professor Harran is very knowledgeable, but the class is a lot of work.

She is the most kind professor ever!!! She works extremely hard and expects the same out of her students. If you work just as hard a she does, you will get an "A". But most importantly, besides the grade, you will learn lessons that will last a lifetime, and a friendship with her that will prove to be invaluable.

Here's the deal, she is probably one of the best professors ever. She truly cares about her students and is such a kind person. The class is amazing, I have never learned so much from one course. She makes it interesting and engaging. Classes always flew by. But it is also ALOT of work!! Tons of reading, many papers, and she tests you on everything

A little intimidating at first, but extremely knowledgable. She really just wants to enlighten and help her students. As long as you keep up with the reading and pay attention in class, you'll find it very interesting. She constantly singles people out to answer her questions and critical thinking is the main focus. The class gets easier as it goes

Dr. Harran's class is one of the most worthwhile experiences you can engage in while you're here at Chapman. She is completely devoted to the subject. I don't think she ever takes a break. She certainly never misses class. For anything. Follow the reading guide schedule on the syllabus religiously. You'll get an A or B, easy. DO NOT fall behind!!!

I agree. She is one of the best professors at Chapman. She organizes class well, her test material is relevant, and you learn a lot about the subject. Not to mention she is an amazing, caring person. The class load is somewhat demanding, but I stopped noticing the difficulty after awhile.
