Very typical class, super nice and humble guy. He his genuine about wanting you to succeed and recognizes that topics are difficult for most. Straight forward lectures, most of your grade will be from the two exams. Lots of pop quizzes, don't skip on Fridays. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Nielson is an absolute gem, take his Evolution class. He's funny by nature and his assignments are really simple, but if you ever do struggle with the material then he's super easy to talk to. Maybe a little disorganized, but that's because there's so much going on in his head -- he's very knowledgable and it shows!

Nielsen was an alright professor, although he was a bit disorganized and unclear in his instructions. You'll be fine so long as you just show that you're putting forth effort.

Neilson is the best professor here hands down. If you have a chance to take any of his class DO IT!!! ONe of the most interesting people I have ever met and you can tell he really cared about his students. Made me LOVE science. Extra credit and quizzes really help boost your grade although his tests are very fair.

Wonderful teacher and very interested in his students doing well. His tests are extremely easy and I hear he is the easiest genetics teacher. Everything on the test is on the study guides. Definitely take notes during the class and dont just rely on the powerpoints to get you through.

Dr. Nielsen is a decent professor, and he is really passionate about the evolution course. His tests are super easy, but his pop quizzes will destroy you. If you do the study guides he gives you before the test, you'll get an A. He's a little all over the place in lecture, which I think is why some people don't really like him. Would recommend!

Honestly the worst professor I have had at Dayton. Can't keep his own thoughts straight which makes it even harder to learn. Can't even figure out his own sample problems so you never know if what you are learning is correct. Take any class over this one.

His lectures are a little jumbled but reading the book helps. He's a nice guy, tries hard to make you understand it. Tests are too bad if you study.

He always manages to phrase things in a funny way when taken out of context, and he generally makes class entertaining. He always answers questions and he's always happy to help you out. He grades pretty easy, too.

Awesome prof! Definately the best prof I have had so far! Make sure to go to all of the review sessions before the exams. Worry more about the tests rather than the quizzes!

Awesome prof, though sometimes confuses himself. Hot in a geeky sort of way if you squint.
