I really grew on me throughout the semester. She made me work for my A instead of just handing it to me and made me a better writer. If you dont like writing a lot, look for a different professor. Professor Herbert really tries to send her students off as improved writers after the class ends.

Took her class in summer & she is a great professor. Readings are light + she goes over everything. Easy 1-page writing every day in-class. She gives good feedback & grades you based on YOUR writing level which is nice. Participate in class bc it helps to have her know who you are. She's just looking for individual improvement, not perfection.

Definitely do the readings. To get an A, make sure you write what SHE said in class, not what YOU think/interpret. For your essays, include a personal background explaining why the topic is important to you. Plenty of chances to redeem yourself. Make up the assignments asap or else they pile up.

The BEST TEACHER EVER! Just do everything she says and don't complain. Shes very HELPFUL! Be on her good side. She gives chances ! Must take advantage and do the readings. It is not hard all. Plus, its college, deal with it

Professor Herbert is a sweet lady. She really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Her class may be a little annoying due to an every day in class writing, however, they call be redone for a better grade. She gives 2 exams, which are the open book, if you come to class the tests are easy, and gives 2 five page essays. Overall average.

1 written assignment every class, they are easy. need to buy a newspaper once a week for a comparison inclass assignment. Only 2 essays 1 for midterm 1 for final. You are allowed to rewrite ANY assignment and hand in the revisions before the semester ends. come to class listen, highlight the quotes she emphasizes OPEN BOOK MIDTERM AND FINAL

She's really a sweetheart. I don't understand some of the other comments. Yes there will be somewhat a lot of work but that's what school is for. You will need to bring in a newspaper once a week. (New York Times) her assignments are simple. They really are.

If you ask her for help, she will help you. It helps a lot if you do your reading before class because it will help you with your in class assignment with the New York Times. Best Midterm and Final exams I have ever had. Just don't be late and listen to her instructions and you will do well.

strict teacher, has attendance policy where you must announce yourself or sign a sheet in order to be counted, I will have to take class over in order to pass the clas due to doing a final project wrong and having not being allowed to do project over. I was not allowed to do final project over and forced to take the entire class over

very tough grader and strict, has odd attendance policy where you must sign in or you are absent for that. my attendance was wrong and it hurt my ability to pass the class. i did final project wrong and was unable to give ability to do over in order to pass the class resulting in having to take the entire class over again.

This prof was the best prof I ever had. She is so easy & extremely helpful. When it comes to work & you ask a question she basically gives you the answer. I wish she was doing 14 but hopefully I get her for english 16!

This class was a joke. Didn't even need to use a textbook, only on exams, she gives you all quotes at first half of the class. Had to spend money every week to buy "New York Times" and write in-class assignments which are complete **** that doesn't make any sense. Class isn't hard, but lots of stupid assignments are just getting on nerves.

I loved the way she taught. It was a bit harsh every now and then but I thhought the topics were interesting. SHe only wants you to be ready for what's out there !
