This was an interesting class with a very interesting professor. Expectations are clear and the class is easy to pass if you pay attention. The professor is actually very funny. It's unclear why students post that this was a difficult class and that he is a bad teacher. There's always going to be someone who doesn't do well, sour grapes.

Everyone's previous comments are very valid. It can be very BORING, as he speaks in monotone. However, the material very interesting n' he's always willing to explain further n' help after class. You must TAKE GD. NOTES. If u don't, you will fail. Never used the book. Oh, n' he's hella sarcastic. I had to clown him a few times. Otherwise he's cool.

Prof. Zucker's class may be boring, but it's extremely easy to pass the class. He gives extra credit pop quizzes, and I found most/some of the answers in the review sheets he passes out, which you can use for the pop quizzes. Extra credit available, too.

VERY VERY BORING TEACHER. Does not know how to make the subject interesting. About half my class dropped because they didn't learn squat from him. Oceanography is a great subject to learn but not from him. other than that, he's pretty easy going. quizzes are extra credit for you and you have a midterm and final.

You can buy an older version of the textbook, he doesn't mind. I went the whole semester without reading it. He loves geology but has an incredibly monotone voice. Insists on showing his personal videos from his public access show on geology. They are embarrassed and hard to watch. Tough grader. No homework. 2 extra credit assignments(easy)

Mr.Z was great! not boring at all. His class was fun and interesting. He has a great sense of humor. As long as you pay attention and take notes the tests are a breeze. I highly recommend his class

Took this class for my GE requirements. No need for book, basically lecture with slides everyday. Not too bad. Pop quizzes worth extra points. Midterm/Final Scantron. I thought I was doing really bad in class, but after final, I ended up with a B. I was expecting C. If you are interested in subject, you'll prob get an A.

I loved his class. I have taken oceanography and marine biology, they were both great, I couldn't get into the lab class though. He covers everything that is on the tests in class, so you just have to show up and pay attention. You don't even need the book. He will explain something again if you didn't get it and he is very patient, and funny too.

He is seriously a bad teacher. His exams are EXTREMELY hard and specific. He briefly talks over topics that are actually very important for the tests. The topics themselves are pretty interesting but he somehow makes everything dull and hard to concentrate on.

Zucker is really into what he teaches but probably expresses it in the MOST boring way possible. His voice is monotone and quiet. Almost all of the lecture will be in the dark classrm for his projector slides--the perfect combination for falling asleep. Its very important to pay attention to what he says bc it'll be on his quizzes/tests. Dont sleep

I thought that he was really funny, and I loved being in his class. It's important to pay attention in class, he goes over material for surprise quizzes and information that you need to know for the test. He is passionate about the subject matter, so being at least interested in it, is a plus. This is not a class for an easy A.

I loved this class. He is not boring at all. He includes videos and pictures to keep it interesting. He is really funny. I love his TV show that he plays for class sometimes, it's hilarious. The grade is based on a midterm and a final and few pop quizzes so that is a challenge. But as long as you show up and pay attention you'll do fine.

I don't know why people don't like him. He is a great professor and always is there to help you. The class may get boring at times, but he's kind of funny in a weird way. Just do your work and it can be interesting. Lots if interesting field trips in Lab I'd recommend him and this class.

I don't know why people think he is boring. He is really passionate about oceanography and it shows. I love his slide shoes and his random asides and videos. He is pretty entertaining and funny. I took it over summer which is 2 hours a day, 4 days a week and it was not that hard to stay awake. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't like this class.
