Professor Rupprecht is great. He's obviously enthusiastic about history. He provides several of small reports that get you thinking, and are basically free credit as long as you complete them. He had 5 essays that you could turn into him anytime throughout the semester to get his feedback, then were due at the end, and Exams were easily studied for

He is very knowledgeable about the subject matter. He expects a lot from you when it comes to tests- you will have to handwrite the definitions for 10 words and not just one sentence definitions, you will need to know dates, why it was important, how it impacts life today etc. He is very nice and wants you to do well/ really learn the material

Comment:

Class was entirely lecture, no powerpoints. He knows everything off the top of his head. No one in my class ever participated so he just talked for 55 minutes straight. Tests were IDs and a short essay. I had a few interesting conversations with the guy about the Cold War after class. Not a very remarkable class but it wasn't bad or difficult.

He was very passionate about the subject matter. You definitely had to take notes. All his tests are hand written and by memory, but are not to bad. He has papers and little homework projects that are easy A's if you do the work. He made you work for it, but he made history class a bit more exciting.

i worded all my essays correctly but he didnt like the way i worded them so he docked me, as i asked him he said im right but he wanted me to know that HE didnt like the way it was worded so he counted it against me

Horrible. Hard to pay attention and take notes when all he does is talk the entire time. Most of the class complains how difficult it is to actually want to be interested. mostly everyone gets on their phones. definitely recommend writing notes on board to make it easier.

If you are looking to take a History class, I would not recommend Rupprecht. Incredibly boring, just talks the entire class and doesn't actually teach anything. Exams are based off how well you can memorize, not what you learned. And if you don't have exact word for word details from the book for test answers, he doesn't give you full credit

Us history class is great. I love this guy he's hilarious and the class is pretty easy. Just listen and take notes and you'll be fine.

He is great for lectures but he is a very hard at grading because be wants every minute detail,even if you have the whole idea down it dose not guarantee a good or even average grade. Its hard to get the essay portion exactly what he wants even when there is sufficient information. id advise caution when taking test and quiz's because one mess up o

Old-fashioned would be an understatement- Rupprecht is a man of the 60s and he expects manners, work ethic, and respect. He loves to talk, but he's funny and interesting, so it's worth it. Arguing with him is useless, so just sit and listen. If you pay attention and read the book, you'll get an A, easy, but you have to do the work.

liked this teacher a lot. He has a good sense of humor that was appreciated in the 8 am class. boring but durable. worth taking with him. make sure you write all your journals and try to take advatage of all the help he offers-studying helps. always be prepared for whats scheduled on syllubus.i only used the book from lack of attentiveness in class

If you have no interest in paying attention in class, then his class is not for you! He goes out of his way to help students- for his essays, you could turn them in early and he would help you correct your mistakes. His tests were so easy if you read, too. He knew a lot of interesting facts and tried to relate it to the students.

Comment:

Although he does lecture from start to finish, he made American History (1600's - 1865) very interesting. The tests aren't that bad - the multiple choice questions, at least, come from the learning supplement that came with the text. There was no shortage of essay writing in this class. I enjoyed him alot, and would recommend him to anyone.

Comment:

Mr.Rupprecht is a teacher who knows alot about the subject he teaches. I was fine with his teaching (all lecture) but other students did seem to get bored sometimes. Has a tendency to stay on a certain subject to long. I liked him, his 5 journals are an easy A and he gives you the terms for review a week before taking the test, an easy A!

One Word, BORING Rupprecht is a very boring teacher, if this is an early class bring lots of coffee or you will doze off. If your at all interested in history it isn't half bad, but otherwise he makes it very boring. I do not recommend him for anyone who doesn't like ESSAYS or hard grading, find another teacher.
