Estrada is very kind and cares a lot for her students. When it comes to writing an essay, you get to chose your topic. One thing that I will say though is that she doesn't have grades in canvas so if you are concerned about your. Talk to her as the semester goes on. She is very kind and will let you know. Highly recommend her!

Comment:

I would definitely take this class again. It isnt very hard at all. Everything is based on your own opinion and thoughts and what you think about reading. There is a lot of reading, but it is pretty enjoyable and she gives a selection so you get to choose in way. But if you participate in class it makes it a more enjoyable class.

Took her during the summer semester. Papers aren't that difficult and the assigned books aren't that bad either. Would definitely take her again, great instructor. Only con is that she does take forever to grade papers and give any feedback on them. As long as you do all of your work you will get an 'A' in the class.

One of the easiest English classes Ive taken. My high school AP English class was harder. Really nice teacher with very easy assignments. Doesnt really read journal assignments, just do them for the sticker. The essays are 2 1/5 pages long. Grades them at the end. Easy grader. Just understand what youre talking about and youll be good.

This class is the best English course at Hancock! So fun! In addition to weekly discussions, there are a lot of papers (six essays), but they are interesting and open-ended; you can even choose a creative option. Also, Professor Estrada is AWESOME! Drop by her office hour to ask for feedback or just to say hello. She loves to discuss literature!

I don't know what everyone's comparing about but then again kind of do. If she is behind on your grading,as her about it she fixes it. If you need her to hold your hand tell her she can do that, but you have to say it. She treats English majors like adults and frankly this is the last few class you take befoe graduation, be a big person and see.

I took her online class. She wasn't especially involved. She took a little long to grade our essays, but other than that she is a fair/easy grader. The workload is reasonable. Overall liked her.

Professor Estrada's class is pretty much a do the work, write the essays, complete the online assignments, and show up to class, and youll pass. Although she doesn't grade anything till the end, if you do the work and try your best, you will more than likely pass. 3 essays, 2 novels, easy journal assignments, online final (easy) and research paper

This wasn't the best or worst English class I have ever taken, it was "okay". There is a lot of reading and writing involved, not much lecture, there are two novels that you focus on basically the whole semester.I learned a lot as far as literature, but she never graded a single essay till the end, so you could be doing terrible without knowing.

This class was fairly easy! Have to read two novels and read alot from the textbook! The final is on blackboard and is quite easy. Every week has a blackboard assignment. Many journal assignments but they're easy! Just be prepared to read! 4 essays, research paper and easy final! you have to be engaged with the class and show up! Really lenient

Professor Estrada is a very enthusiastic lady, and loves what she teaches, which makes it more interesting. Be ready to read, do all blackboard assignments and do all your homework and you will pass with an A. The only downfall for this class, she doesn't grade absolutely anything you turn in until pretty much the last day. You wont get feed back.

Estrada is a good teacher. She goes over everything she wants you to do thoroughly, if you attend class, do the blackboard assignments and spend adequate time on your essays you will do well. She rarely grades your paper before the next one is due and there isn't a lot of feedback. This does make it a little difficult to know how to improve.
